CIA says Russia intervened to help Trump win the White House



The CIA has concluded that Russia intervened in the 2016 election to help President-elect Donald Trump win the White House, and not just to undermine confidence in the U.S. electoral system, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

Citing U.S. officials briefed on the matter, the Post said intelligence agencies had identified individuals with connections to the Russian government who provided thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, to WikiLeaks.

The officials described the individuals as people known to the intelligence community who were part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and reduce Clinton’s chances of winning the election.

“It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” the Post quoted a senior U.S. official as saying. “That’s the consensus view.”

The Post said the official had been briefed on an intelligence presentation made by the Central Intelligence Agency to key U.S. senators behind closed-doors last week.

The CIA, in what the Post said was a secret assessment, cited a growing body of evidence from multiple sources. Briefers told the senators it was now “quite clear” that electing Trump was Russia’s goal, the Post quoted officials as saying on condition of anonymity.

Excuses, excuses ...... The US Elite are clutching at straws. Scare tactics and demonization by accusing Trump of being a Russian Puppet, that the people saw straight through, and arrogance, cost her the election and this continuous tirade against the Russians is going to have exactly the same effect ......... the reverse of that intended. All these claims that Russia influenced the US election is rubbish but by harping on about it all the time, with not a shred of definitive evidence, they are making themselves look even more stupid.

So far I have not seen any response from Putin ..... maybe he can't stop laughing at the stupid Americans chasing their tails?

I think you may well have a point. Trump certainly is no puppet but I am beginning to believe he is not what he at first seems, either. I hope you are wrong but I am beginning to feel that this world is heading for the pits. People have ridiculed me for years for even believing there could be an Elite (NWO?) that runs the show which I am convinced is centred around the banking and financial system. As time has gone on I have seen nothing to make me change my mind.

Unfortunately, I think it is too late to do anything about it.

The Americans would rather ditch a plane in the ocean rather than jeopardize an aircraft carrier. No plane is allowed to land if it puts an aircraft carrier out so they ditch a $140 million dollar plane and get a helicopter to get the pilot.
