Oh no he won't threaten but it isn't up for negotiation.

NATO membership requires certain mandatory obligations are met. In other words, every State must spend a minimum of 2.5% of their GDP on arms. Many NATO members are below that which means the USA is subsidizing their Defence. Unfair on America.

In fact, we have been very fortunate to have America as our ally. Why? Because they were always the providing there own soldiers, their own equipment, their own hardware to help its allies with Defence and security. In Australia, there are 45,000 US Troops.

No other superpower would do that and want nothing or little in return.

But now everyone is gonna have to pull their own weight.

And no, NATO countries will not be buying weapons from Russia or China. Russia won't sell their weapons to NATO members either. NATO members can buy from anywhere but not Russia. Embargoed too!

They can buy from France, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Spain, UK, Israel, Australia, Japan, USA, Canada, or South Africa.

There is no requirement as to from where the weapons are bought.

Oh, Australia is about to go Nuclear. It's on for young and old now. Invest Defence procurement today is the ADF DCNS Baracuda Submarine costing about $5 billion each of about the same as 5 Kuznetsovs!
