Actually, as often as not, the problem is not on the island. Have a look at
Image and you will see that the blockage is at the savvis.net nodes when contacting this forum from Cytanet. Savvis is the worst of the routings that Cyta use and is always slow, although Beyond the Network America Inc is not much better. They do use a couple of others, but it is rare for anything going outside Cyprus to end up in the light orangey pink zone or lower zone.

As a general rule, I can download, on a 1 Mbit/s nominal connection, at 800 kbit/s ± 100 kbit/s and this is well within the norms for ADSL. Occasionally, at busy periods, it may go down to half this, which I would also consider normal. A couple of days ago, Cyta did have a grave technical problem with one of their servers, which slowed everything down to less than a crawl.

devil, what your graph shows it that CYTA has crappy connectivity with the US internet backbone. And Savvis is in fact a very well-connected data center (probably one of the best).

Loucian, are you kidding?

DO NOT switch to primetel. Heavy bandwidth filtering... u will never get the speed you paying for.

I`ve heard many good opinions about PrimeTel, you suprised me.
I just sign into Netway via i-choice trial period and it suxx: 760/130 on http://numion.com

To be honesty: with netrunner-fast I was quite more satisfied. No closed ports and speed what I paid for, even torrents or emule
