We give the best comparisons between ISPs ;) Until Prime-tel comes out the best ISPs are Netway and Otenet. I think Otenet is a bit better but it is a bit of a pain to subscribe (contracts, bank transfers etc) while Netway you can do it online with your credit card in 3 minutes :)

OK guys, 've tested almost all ISP excep for Logos (wont even bother)

CYTANET - stay away, dont even bother getting it.
SPIDERNET - somewhere in CYTAs category.
AVACOM - fast, but has proxys. P2P will work untill admin cuts you off...
NETWAY - fast for browsing, open ports.. but they use traffic shaping, P2P - forget it.
WAVESPEED - someone please stop my emule!!! my PC is taking off... :) perfect so far.
LOGOSNET - not tested
OTENET - not tested

Generally, the best way is to go Monthly plan. You have a low posibiity to get capped.
Once you get 6, or 12 month package... forget it, you'll be in their control.

Thanks raymanuva. I am very tempted to try Wavespeed now! I hope you don't work for them ;) Are you with Wavespeed now? What speeds do you get with Wavespeed here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

Bittorent works fine with them.
But they use transparent proxy for http (all connections to port 80 are diverted to their proxy). Though it OK most of the time, it prevents some applications from working (those which use WebDAV).

Never heard of them before.

I have been using Cyta since I arrived from the UK in December last year..

I get a sustained download of 110 k/s on cytas 1mb I-Choice service from Giganews.com in europe..

Havent had any speed issues so maybe its just a local issue with some contention rates?

Bit-Torrent sux anyway, as does all p2p stuff...

Binary Newsgroups are the way to go for downloads

I used to max out my uk 8mb connection with downloads

:D

Has CyTA/Netrunner opened up any ports does anyone know? I'm hitting speeds of 105kb/s on Bit Torrent which is speeds I have never seen before on the CyTA network.

Do you have any work related affiliations with Wavespeed?

Thats not very helpful. I get 800+kbps and over 80K down with emule from Otenet. You should do the test without having anything else running to show the real speed.
