This company is one of the largest monopolies in Cyprus. Most of their employees are card carrying AKEL fans and you can guess which football team they pull for.

Maybe their “port-switching-software” does something like this then:
IF American THEN speed = 56Kbits

So what? What have their political affiliations to do with the technical services offered by their employers? This smacks of American anti-"liberal" racism.

"Most of their employees are card carrying AKEL fans and you can guess which football team they pull for. They can do what ever they want. "

JustAnAmerican how can you be so closeminded? Do you know anything about Cyta? I guess not if you believe what you say. I don't vote for AKEL and if you knew anything about how they work you would find that most of the employees are members of SEK, not PEO. And about OMONOIA, do you think if CYTA was all AKEL OMONOIA would sign contract with LTV instead of MyVision?

They don't do whatevere they want. The regulator won't let Cyta to make the mobile rates cheaper because of Areeba.

But i guess you are Just An American.

JustAnAmerican, I have to tell you from experience that Thunderworx is not that reputable company... The company I work has been with them for some time, and several times I had various problems with them... And usually their support closes at 18:00, which is failry early for our job that we usually have to work very late and need the web. Even when I installed a server in the office, it took them some time to realise and figure out the whole procedure that had to be followed. Personally, I'm fond of Spidernet, I've been with them almost ten years and I never had a problem with them. Uptime has been almost 100% and their technical support knowledge is just AA.

Marnic, I just got off the phone with the number 3 guy at Cyta working a fiber issue near one of our complexes in Strovolos. My employees and I have had dinner several times with many of their top executives. We have been invited numerous times to sit in their box seats at home football games. Have you met anyone at the top level in their organization? If so, let me know, their name. I will ask them what party they belong to and what football team they pull for.

Well if you knew the executives as you say you do, then you would know that they don't deside about the promotions in Cyta. The president of Cyta, at this time is Kremmos, has not any authority over the organisation. Former president was the late Zivanaris. The president of the semigoverment organizations as you may know change every few years depending on the goverment.
And because i don't know the words in english i will say this to greek.

O N.Timo8eou genikos dieu8inths ths Cytas einai tou Dhsy. O Savvidis anaplirwths g.dieu8inths apoti 3erw den exei ekdilw8ei pote. ta alla 2 melh ths gennikhs dieu8inshs Oikonomidhs kai Tsappas me to Akel den einai sigoura.
