Aahh, bless!
Russians don't require a donation.
They are dealing in stolen GC property and I don't recall any GCs donating it to our Orthodox brothers.
The last time I went to Kyrenia Limani, I was at a seafront cafe owned by Russians. The surrounding tables were also occupied by Russian speakers. There were more Russians than GC or TC or Brits. Didn't see one Brit, just some Russians, a couple of GCs and a lot of Kurds from Anatolia.
This was a few years ago (2004) and I never went there since.
Paphitis, coming to conclusions based on what you heard in a cafe and then coming here to offer it as facts is what we call "κουβέντες του καφενέ". I have the census of the pseudo state from 2011. Here is what it says:GENEL TOPLAM 286,257
KKTC TOPLAM 190,494
- YALNIZ KKTC 136,362
- KKTC - Türkiye 38,085
- KKTC - Diğer 16,047
TÜRKİYE 80,550
Birleşik Krallık 3,693
Türkmenistan 1,760
Nijerya 1,280
İran İslam Cumhuriyeti 1,152
Pakistan 1,075
Bulgaristan 920
Azerbeycan 835
Diğer 4,498
Birleşik Krallık = United Kingdom, Diğer = Other. The rest you can figure it out. Russians are not even mentioned so they must have been less than 835, while the British were 3693.
I base my conclusions on my research. Do a simple search and you will see that the occupation regime actively seeks Russian investment far more than anyone else. There are Russian Estate Agents, forums in Russian even about buying property in occupied Cyprus.
Even the Brit carpetbaggers are complaining that it is hard finding English speaking Agents now. Poor sods!
And yes, if you go and observe the number of Russians economically active in occupied Cyprus, you would be concerned. You should be concerned because they are now the biggest investors in Occupied Cyprus. Poor sods!
Or is it one set of rules for the Brits and one set for Orthodox brothers?
I know it must be inconvenient for you Sotos, but if you're not consistent, don't expect anyone to take you seriously because you would lose all credibility.
One thing I didn't see is American investment. They even warn Americans about in eating in an occupied area making note that many properties actually belong to displaced people.
