I often wonder what goes on in a GC persons mind about TC S. I think in general most of you would rather if we did not exist. I also think about how the aborigines and Indians in America were treated by invaders both being from the British empire. How both races who were there before the Brits that got wiped out to a minority and now the invaders have completely taken over these countries. The ottomans could have applied the same method if they so wished but by my understanding they did not which is why your still a majority in Cyprus.
You see the mess the Turks left us in. By leaving a minority of their own people in areas they invade causes nothing but friction. better option to have either done what the Brits did or just invade but not settle your people there. I don't agree with either to be honest. If only they did not invade Cyprus all those 100s of years ago but I think there still to this day would have been another invading empire all because where Cyprus is situated. BAD LUCK

The Ottomans did the same thing in what today you call "Turkey". Cyprus was one of the last places the Ottomans conquered and therefore they didn't have time to wipe us all... they couldn't just do it at once because who would have paid them taxes then?

I have to correct you lordo. When the ottoman soldiers came, those that chose to settle or were stationed there brought their family with them hence this is my background which is documented. In fact I even know my descendants names dating back from when they conquered which are documented. I agree with you partially that some tc s background may not have directly come from the ottomans, most probably gypsies, Armenians etc but you are wrong to say our decsendents are not from the ottomans.
