1. If you like, post your CV here minus the personal details section, so we can have a look at it. We may be able to spot a problem in there. Just copy and paste here from Ms Word and don’t worry about lost formatting.

2. Cold canvassing – Door knocking at businesses telling them how enthusiastic you are to work and willing to learn their ways. Have little cards with your name and number printed on them to hand out so they can get back to you.

3. Hrises Efkeries – A €1 newspaper offering free employment classifieds. There are jobs on offer there too.

4. Go to the big stores like Alphamega, IKEA, Homecenter, Lidl, Carrefour, etc, and ask for an employment form to fill out and submit.

5. Check for public notice boards where you can advertise yourself for employment where large crowds gather like The Mall, etc.

Well, what do you want to do? it will be easier and better to have a focus.

Why don't you call some recruitment agencies? They know the job market well and beside the free consultation, they will work for you to find you a job.

sadly a lot of young cypriots both sides of the divide end up leaving cyprus for a life. it has been so for a very long time. lets hope an agreement is reached soon and cypriots can once again work together for cyprus and not have to leave.

...just a site hustle...

What do you mean by that? You don't want a full time job? What are your skills? For example how many languages do you speak? English and Greek? I was just at a Sigma bakery in Limassol and they had an ad on the door that they are looking for somebody for the night shift.

Well start fucking writing one TONIGHT!

Get a CV template from the Internet and start filling it out as best as you can. Then get someone from here or an older friend/parent/relative to go over it.

You send the CV along with a “cover letter” for all job applications you apply for that you’ve read in newspapers etc.

You can hand it out to employers when cold canvassing (door knocking) so that they may read about you when they find the time and hopefully get interested and call.

You can send your CV to any personnel department of larger companies (IKEA, Woolworths, Homecenter, Stephanides, etc) even if there’s no vacancy, so that the personnel manager can have a look at you and keep you on file.

You can also send a copy to all employment agencies you find in the Yellow pages.

It’s basically your professional advertisement of YOU with handy contact details... a step in the right direction.
