Incidentally, over the years , one becomes not just older but matures in many other areas.
Of course the absolute love of my life are my three gorgeous grand children, they give me so much pleasure, I always play the old, old old, pappou , pretending that I cannot hear, falling asleep at the drop of a hat, walking like a really old man and generally playing the old fool!!
I do spoil them though, and why not.

You should go and read the discussion from the beginning. Nobody disagrees that God is an imaginary idea for everything that humans cannot understand. it's an oxymoron for a human to ask for logical and tangible proof (on whether something exists or not) when s/he does not even know/does not have the brain ability to understand what that something is.

Like I said from the very beginning humans invented "God" to calm their FEAR from DEATH. If there was no human fear for death or no death then humans would have no "God". Possibly the same would happen if they had superior brain ability.It does happen at lower levels e.g cats and dogs don't have "gods"

Maximus, do you believe in Ghosts, Tooth Fairy, the 12 Gods of Olympus and every other mythological creature ever imagined by humans?

Science shows that there is no evidence whatsoever that invisible, undetectable beings exist. Beyond that if you want to believe in invisible, undetectable beings you might as well believe in all of them. Why believe in just in the Jewish God and not in the Greek Gods also?

What science has proven as wrong are the so called "holy books". Those contain a lot of claims that are testable, and when tested a lot of the claims turn out to be wrong.

So religions are proven as being false and there is no evidence whatsoever that any kind of Ghosts exist.

you are claiming religion is false because there is no evidence that ghosts exist. in other words, ghosts equal religion. No ghosts, no religion.

Is this your best attempt to convince someone to convert to Atheism?

You do know religion is like a guiding set of principles to live your life by right? Like the ten commandments. Which of those is proven false by science?

Do you live your life by any set of morally guiding principles as an atheist? Are they ordained by man just like religion was man made but cutting out god?

Religion is not science so what level of precision are you looking towards religion for to prove in scientific terms that god exist's? the book of Genesis? :lol:

Maximus, earlier you said "Those that are saying "god does not exist" must prove it." Can you prove that Ghosts do not exist? Can you prove that the Tooth Fairy does not exist? Can you prove that the Olympian Gods do not exist?

If you can't prove that those things do not exist, why don't you believe in them??

Everything that has to do with facts. When earth was created compared to the rest of the universe, in what order things came to existence, how life emerged in earth etc etc. Basically a book like the Bible does not contain any more knowledge than what was already known to people of that era.

If "holy books" came from "God" then shouldn't they be 100% precise?
