I would love to have been able to take part but Newcastle is a long way to go in order to discover what I already know in that Red Wine is GOOD for you.
As a young boy I recall visiting my grand father in Theletra and helping with the crushing of grapes , he was a wine drinker and lived to be 104 years old.
I first had my taste of wine at about 10 or 11 years old, I begun to indulge on a daily basis at around 21 years old and have continued doing so for 50 years now.
At the young age of 70 I still consume daily a bottle of red, Sundays or when on holiday two plus bottles. I never drink when working which is approximately 60 plus hours per week, or of course if in charge of children when in Cyprus, or driving.
Some drinkers are affected by having mood changes, Im lucky that the only affect wine has on me is to send me to sleep. My temperament is exactly the same , in fact more subdued, when drinking wine.
I have always believed that when and if I stopped drinking through not fancying wine I would be approaching the inevitable end, thus far no sign of this happening.
I mentioned on a few occasions that my personal Holy Triada consists of . 1. wine, 2 a gorgeous blonde, 3 . Greek bouzouki music. The three combined satisfy my inner feelings tumultuously.
Cheers !!
