RichardB cultural tour of Cyprus

Postby RichardB » Fri Sep 09, 2016 5:08 pm

So, anyway to lighten thing's up a bit.I shall do a milti and diarise mine and grandson max ' current tour of Cyprus.
Arrived on Sunday and after getting bags out of taxi started the tour right away by getting beer from the periptero.
Awaking the next morning we decided to do the museums...bad move ...found out all museums close on Mondays..so we retired to the old town for a beer and for max a fruit juice ((he's only seven.)
Tuesday we finally got to do the Cyprus museum and the leven tis museum ..found both really enjoyable.More culture followed on Tuesday evening with a visit to the beer festival, this time with the yinaika in tow. ..what a great night! Found a great beer stall ran by cyprus microbrewery with really great Amber beer.
Wednesday did the icon museum and museum of national struggle,...Again both very interesting. In the evening we decided that it would be rude not to visit beer festival again....more good beer and a great performance from the ' big bang theory'
Off up the mountains tommorow and back to Nicosia on Monday

Regards
Richard and Max

If you visit Limassol, try the Cyprus Motor Museum. You will have the chance to see Mr Bean's mini and many more historic vehicles. :)

Have fun!

By 'cultural', do you mean brewer's yeast?

Got woken up by donkeys braying and church bells this morning.

The grapes aren't quite ready for picking yet but grandson had fun picking strawberries and tomatoes and exploring the village.

Such a difference after the hullabaloo of Nicosia

Going to church soon and then off to another garden to pick some pomegranate (maybe this sounds boring but for young max it's a whole new adventure)

Regards

Richard
