So you believe, for example, that the earth including its plants were created before the stars?

Given that the bible was translated profusely down the centuries from the original scripts, you’ve got to allow some room for human error in the course of all those translations, so if something doesn’t make perfect sense it’s not the end of the world.

In what other way would somebody be convinced of God's authenticity? It is rhetorical question. We both know that the answer in most cases is "because mommy said so"

Well I *was* gonna take you on a multi-faceted journey to make you aware of things you probably haven’t heard of before which all come together in the end… but if you keep derailing the thread with stupid things then I get bored!

Scientists today can explain some of it but not everything. But you and your religion can't explain anything because you are stuck 2000 years in the past. What religion does, create a fairytale to fill a gab in our knowledge, is the easiest thing in the world. I can do that too just as easily. And this is exactly why those old Bible fairytales sound so ridiculous today. Because after 2000 years we found the real truth about many things that were unknown back then and the gab of that knowledge was filled with God fairytales that have nothing to do with reality.

No they cannot explain anything with respect to the presence of the universe other than invent daft feeble theories that hold no water. We’ve discussed all that to death here many times so I’m not gonna go over that again.

Get Real, transition errors are not a good excuse. Genesis still exists in Hebrew and the Hebrew version says the same thing. It is not a translation error, but lack of common knowledge we have today by the author that lived 1000s of years ago and didn't know what we know now.

Science can today explain a lot of things that were unknown 2000+ years ago and were wrong in the bible. For example today nobody can dispute that earth is not the center of the universe. Science proved this long time ago. However the Church initially disputed this scientific finding because it didn't match with their beliefs. Once it became an undisputed fact that earth is not the center of the universe the church was forced to re-interpret the Bible to align itself with the undisputed fact. The same will soon happen with evolution. Until today the Church continues to reject evolution, however after some decades they will be forced to re-interpret their texts again.

If you claim that a book does not mean exactly what is written in it but it is instead a matter of interpretation, then that book becomes totally meaningless because it can be interpreted to mean whatever the interpreter wants it to mean.

Science doesn't have all the answers and it will never have all the answers. The valid response to something that science doesn't have an answer is "We don't know". Maybe we will find the answer in the future, maybe we will not. If you take all the unknown things and replace them with fairytales based on wishful thinking you gain zero knowledge and you are just lying to yourself.

Athiest, please prove that God does not exist. The burden of truth should be on you, since I don't need any proof since I believe he does.

Anything less than that and you have no case.

The burden of proof lies with the one that makes a claim for something.

Fortunately for the church most people are like you and believe in things without any good evidence.
