Were you equipped with the capacity to understand that which is written (and analyse the content) you would find that nowhere is there an attempt to excuse the incidents you refer to, nor is there evidence of 'Courageous idols',..... it's all in your mind you poor old fool BUT, at least you consider yourself to be 'Debating' and therefore you should be humoured I suppose.

If those Jews (the SOME you mention) were convinced by their faith that they were 'Already Dead' as a result of the evils of the world in which they live and, if those same Jews were similarly convinced that 'Death' was preferable to 'Life' and that great would be their reward when they faced their maker and, IF they had the 'Courage' to undertake the action you have suggested then, what's to stop them ?.

The fact that YOU cannot associate yourself with any action which might require a degree of 'Courage' (and as a simple example) I would suggest that your lifelong avoidance of submitting to the 'Military Service' expected of EVERY young Cypriot (you know, except for those that chose to flee their country and ensure that they did not overstay their holiday for the next 50 years) does not mean that no one else can exhibit the fact that they might have deeply ingrained beliefs, whether they be right or wrong they are at least honest.
