You can be against it if you want... that is YOUR choice, but what the team represents is NOT your choice but the choice of those who made the club. In 1926 a bunch of brainless peasants; influenced by mass foreign-serving propaganda of the time, formed a football club and named it in accordance with the brainwashing they were subjected to.

If anything, the name “APOEL” is a very sad reminder of the dirty tricks Greece played against the people of Cyprus, in their endeavors to wipe out anything Cypriot and Cypriotism.
