So what did gorgeous Yiorgios do that was oh so brave, that Papadop gave him a gong and a bit of paper with a signature on it...

Was it for brown tongueing el Presidente above and beyond the call of duty?

No one so far seems to know...

At least he had a trial, which is more than can be said for the often unarmed victims of EOKA, and One man's Freedom fighter is another man's terrorist. He chose to live by the Gun knowing the likley consequences...

A Kangaroo court trial.

The scum were the British Colonialists who terrorized our children and women.

You deserved everything you got. A tiny island stood up against your illegal tyranny and subjugation.

The Brits could have just left and there wouldn't be a problem. Instead, you stayed and bastardized our population, raided our houses door to door, prevented public gatherings, bashed us in the streets, tear gassed us at demonstrations, prevented us from earning a living with dignity and ruled with fear.

EOKA declared war on Britain in 1955 and you became an unwanted occupier. It is our island not yours.

...there you have it, the Rule of Law is a two edge sword.

Grivas did not come to Cyprus to start a war. He came home, to his home to rest. Grivas admired the British and their Army, for their discipline and their courage, which he witnessed through his own experiences, in war.

...that is why, when he was shot at, in a radio shack, at the airport visiting his friend, it came to pass the moment where "it" went too far. He was ignored, along with his complaint, that was his revelation.

...if it were not for Makarios, there would be no Cyprus.

...if it were not for Grivas, this choice would have never been.

...witness EOKA B, either way (otherwise) Cyprus would be but an island, torn apart.

...indeed, no mention of the "Turk" in this, Cypriots subjugated as Ottomans, and subjugated by the British, their choices were more limited, having been divided from their brethren now labelled "Greeks".

...we can learn from Grivas, his story, and we can learn what it means to go too far.

I will forgive you because you are too ignorant to even represent those colonial, imperialist, slave-driving dinosaurs that would say the kind of idiotic things you come out with ... even if you cannot get your own culture's idiomatic popular songs correct (and you need to look up the title of this thread to work out where you have GONE WRONG, again, idiot!)

You should be shoved on a leaky boat and pushed out from Akrotiri or Dhekelia or anywhere .........
