Anyway, talking of Syria, there is news that the Syrian Democratic Forces have started a major operation to liberate Raqqa in the past three or four hours. I hope that the long-suffering people of Raqqa will soon be freed from occupation by the Daesh bandits and I also hope that we can all agree on that.

I can support that sentiment 110%! But I do fear that any assault on a built up area in which civilians are trapped will entail a lot of civilian casualties unfortunately. We shall have to wait and see what stories come out later about what has been going on inside the town all this time.

It's curious that Sputnik is reporting positively on the campaign to liberate Raqqa, given that this is a Western backed move. I get more and more convinced that there has been some kind of backroom deal between the West and Putin over Syria.

I have just watched BBC World News and no mention of Raqqa. What they did report on was the Iraqi offensive with US/coalition air support for the relief of Falluja. The same sentiments apply but are there two battles going on? :?:

The liberation of Falluja in Iraq started yesterday, I believe. A good thing too, since the bandits have been sending suicide bombers from here into Baghdad and causing quite a bit of needless carnage. I am keeping my fingers crossed about this, too. Ramadi has already been retaken. The fight appears to be going well in Iraq.

...i will paste this topic here, for the record. Frankly, some of these topics have become very good chronicles of events, which may prove useful, sometime in the future.

Not a great deal of ...enthusiastic endorsement of Paphitis' unequivocal, according to him, views on the Syrian issue and those associated with Syria.

It doesn't look like there is any enthusiastic support for your views. Your only supporters seem to be the blinkered and warped such as yourself, Get Real and Robin Hood and to be quite frank, that is great validation that my views are more than correct!

So you have lost in other words.
