" On a positive note, an increase of 4,63% was recorded in tourist arrivals from Russia during 2014 compared to 2013, reaching 636.759. Indeed, tourists from Russia have become the second largest tourist market for Cyprus, representing 26% of the market share. At the same time, arrivals from Ukraine also recorded an increase, having risen by 20,77% (41.087 tourists) in 2014 from 2013. Tourist arrivals from Ukraine currently represent a mere 1,68% of the market. "

To express delight at the prospect of Cyprus' northern parts occupier in shooting down Russian aircraft is not only nauseatingly disgusting but damn right anti Cypriot. Russia is contributing to our economy by investing heavily, by encouraging tourism and by considering Cyprus as a friendly nation, You have a massive paranoia on Putin and on Russia, yet you consider the Arab world's culture as superior to that of the West. You are utterly consumed with immense hatred of Russia and Putin whom you stated previously that you hate more than ISIS.

Your views on numerous occasions are exceedingly naïve and rather immature.

Since Turkey downed the Russian aircraft she has not dared to enter Syrian airspace or indeed Greek airspace, one wonders if Russia has anything to do with Turkey's reluctance to violate either the Syrian or Greek airspace. For someone connected, as you are, to Cyprus, to be expressing pro Turkish views is anathema to all Cypriots. The name Paphitis does not become you. I'm Paphitis, I'm Cypriot and I would never, and neither would any other Cypriot, express pro Turkish views.

Russia is Cyprus' friend and who knows one day we may call upon this friendship for constructive assistance.
Long live Russia, and may Putin long reign.

You better lift your standards because Pootin is on the nose.

You kiss arse attitude is auseating and one day, Cypriots will come to understand what a vulture Pootin is.

Look around you and see everything that he has done in the last few years.

First of all, he invaded and occupies South Ossetia and Abkhazia. All countries including Cyprus respect the territorial integrity of Georgia which wished to join the EU and NATO.

Then, it invades Ukraine and destabilizes the entire country. The Rebels are in fact Spetsnaz Russian Special Forces. Ukraine too wants to join the EU and NATO.

Not only this, its troops shoot down MH17 with a BUK-1 Missile, and Russia denies all involvement despite all the crash evidence including fragments of the offending Missile within the fuselage.

Not only this, but it continuously violates the Airspace of Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, and Latvia. If that is not enough for you, it sent 4 warships down to intimidate Australia during the G20 and the 2 countries were playing a bit of tit for tat on the high seas.

It also supports one of the most brutal regimes bombing civilians, hospitals and schools in Aleppo and Ghouta.

Pootin is bloody dangerous, and will one day cause a war.

And it is friggin disgusting and HYPOCRITICAL that a Cypriot would support this drongo when the island is long suffering from the EXACT same crimes from Russia!

Yes, I am all for Turkey shooting down as many Russian Jets as it wishes.

this Cypriot makes no apology for that. I am also no hypocrite!

I have always supported the West and the USA in particular, but will not shut my eyes to their stupidity in supporting 100 plus Islamic factions fighting the legitimate Syrian government.

By the way, what shall I do with those ...humble pies you kindly sent me when you were celebrating the fall of Assad, will you perhaps be sending a few more when your beloved Turkey......shoots down another Russian plane ? They wouldn't dare mate , Russia will annihilate their entire air force and its BA NATO can do!

I don't hate Russians. I hate their criminal regime.

Your behavior is absolutely atrocious and political nous is that of a porcupine.

Fancy celebrating the killing and destruction of innocent civilians.

If that is how you feel, then you should be ashamed to call yourself Cypriot. You have been supporting criminal regimes responsible for war crimes.

PATHETIC!

The fall of Assad is inevitable. All regimes like this eventually fall on their sword. In the meantime, there will be war in Syria for years to come and elsewhere like Yemen because you are too stupid to understand. This is a 1000 year rivalry that is far beyond America and Russia.

Assad had an opportunity for transition to spare Syrians from years of misery and has instead chosen war! Decades of war!

AND btw, if Russia annihaltes the Turks, what do you think will happen then? That is Article 5 sonny boy. NATO is at war! Tell Pootin to do it. Fucking arsehole doesn't have the BALLS!

Go right ahead. But make sure to highlight that I stand on Principles.

I don't condone Turkey's occupation anymore than I condone Russia's illegal annexation of South Ossetia, and Abkhazia, or its illegal insurgency in Ukraine, gross violations of Airspace violations across Europe or the negligent shooting down of MH17.

I am very comfortable with my views because they are well thought out. I don't subscribe to my enemies enemy is my enemy.

In addition, Cyprus one day hopes to be liberated. In that event, trade will occur with Turkey as well as diplomatic relations will recommence. You are deluded to believe that this is not going to be a part of the settlement. With that of course will come NATO membership to cover security aspects not only for Turkey but for Cyprus as well.

You better smarten up old boy!

Because it is this type of lunacy that totally fucked up the island in the first place.

In addition, any Cypriot who cries about the Turkish Invasion and continued occupation, the ethnic cleansing and mass murder and in the same breath supports Assad's and Pootin's war crimes in Syria or the annexation of territories belonging to Georgia is outright STUPID!

Did you say ...principles ?
Does that mean that you stand by your principles in that you hate Putin more than you hate ISIS ?
Or perhaps your expressed wish that Turkey should shoot down a few more Russian aircraft ?
Or perhaps that the Arab culture, beheadings and all, is superior to that of the West ?

Perhaps you still believe that the removal of Assad will bring about peace in Syria

Mate you are so far out of touch on practically every view that you cherish and hold.

Yes I stand on principles.

ISIL are NOTHING compared to the danger of Pootin and all the shit he has caused recently. I stand by that and once again, my positions are well thought out!

ISIL is easily defeated when you remove their recruitment, and that would have been achieved in Syria with proper transition recognizing the existance of the majority Sunnis. Bombing civilian populations will only accelerate ISIL's recruitment and more insurgencies.

Furthermore, they are no match to our military. They will and have been degraded in Iraq but not in Syria so much, whereas Pootin's criminal ways will go on and effect other countries. He has invaded 2 countries and counting just in the last few years.

Just because the cafe latte set don't want to be disturbed during coffee time with YouTubes of Westerners being beheaded by Jihadi John, does not make them more dangerous than Assad or Pootin who have used Chemical and Biological Weapons in Ghouta, an outer suburb of Damascus!

Assad will NEVER bring peace to Syria. How about that little home truth! How do you expect to fully defeat the rebels? How? :?
