I propose Turkey have a target for the year. Shooting down 4 Russian Jets seems fair!

Syrian airspace is Russian planes rich, so why doesn't Turkey send some of her jets to go and shoot some more Russians jets over the Syrian airspace?

Oh, I forgot, Turks don't dare to cross into Syrian airspace with her jets. Too afraid getting shot down them self.

Speaking of violating air spaces, I read the other day somewhere, that since the day Turks shot down the Russian jet 6 months ago in an ambush, which the Russians called it as "being stabbed in the back", most probably because Erdogan gave his word to Putin in the G-20 meeting in Antalya that he would do no such thing, Turkey had not once violated Greece's air space since, so I wonder what kind of fright Putin delivered to Erdogan about his jets violating Syrian or Greece's air spaces? Maybe because Russia has some naval assets in the Aegean with surface-to-air missiles aimed at any Turkish jets dare to fly in the vicinity.

So much for some Turks felling very proud of Turkey being "BIG"?

Paohitis,

I think that your opinion is sillier than those 25% of Turks that said "because it showed to the world that Turkey is bigger"

They don't have to. Turkey's position at this stage is to defend its Airspace. A fundamental right I will support them on.

However, I would love for Turkey to shoot Russian Jets down in Syrian Airspace and then completely deny they ever did it and accuse ISIL or Al Nusra.

This is what the Russians are good at when shooting down Airliners!

That would be some trick by the Turks to shoot down a Russian Jet over Syrian airspace.

You must mean from a ground fire and not by any Turkish jets, right?

But according to Turkey, they claimed that Russian Jet had violated Turkish airspace many times since shooting down the Russian Jet, so they had chances to down few more Russian Jets, but didn't, so how come?

Could it be Russian bombers now have Russian fighter jets escorting them and are on the lookout for any ambush by the Turks.

SAMs like MIM-23 or Rapier. Doing it by plane would mean they can't play any of Pootin's dirty tricks!

But they can send their planes if they want. Nothing to stop them. They can join all the American, French and Australian planes and be taken on a tour! All they have to do is lodge Flight Plans with Coalition JSOC.

If the Turks could send their jets to Syria, whey would. Obviously there is a reason as to why they cannot or won't.

Paphitis, I want your aviation expertise here.

If an airliner flying at night at 37,000 ft and loses engine power on all the engines, lets say the fuel tank is dry, how much electrical power is there stored in the on board batteries to keep the instruments and the flight control panels working before everything shuts down and the plane falls out of the sky?

They can, and Coalition has been trying to get them to do that for ages.

All they have to do is lodge Flights Plans to JSOC, and they would be cordially received by Coalition Aircraft.

To answer your question, pretty much for as long as the aircraft has forward velocity it will be able to feed the 3 Electrical Buses with power through its Ram Air Turbine.

OK, I got you. So the air flow through the engines that would make its fan blades spin would generate enough electrical power to maintain the flight of the aircraft during glide slope until reaching the surface. Thanks.

To express delight at the prospect of Cyprus' northern parts occupier in shooting down Russian aircraft is not only nauseatingly disgusting but damn right anti Cypriot. Russia is contributing to our economy by investing heavily, by encouraging tourism and by considering Cyprus as a friendly nation, You have a massive paranoia on Putin and on Russia, yet you consider the Arab world's culture as superior to that of the West. You are utterly consumed with immense hatred of Russia and Putin whom you stated previously that you hate more than ISIS.

Your views on numerous occasions are exceedingly naïve and rather immature.

Since Turkey downed the Russian aircraft she has not dared to enter Syrian airspace or indeed Greek airspace, one wonders if Russia has anything to do with Turkey's reluctance to violate either the Syrian or Greek airspace. For someone connected, as you are, to Cyprus, to be expressing pro Turkish views is anathema to all Cypriots. The name Paphitis does not become you. I'm Paphitis, I'm Cypriot and I would never, and neither would any other Cypriot, express pro Turkish views.

Russia is Cyprus' friend and who knows one day we may call upon this friendship for constructive assistance.
Long live Russia, and may Putin long reign.
