Sadly not. The UK will be weaker in the world as a small ex-imperial island isolated on the fringes of Europe of which it is not a part. It has become less sovereign and most probably will become even more of a poodle of the US.
My comments on regaining our sovereignty were sarcastic Tim, since the vast majority of Brits actually believed in this total nonsense.
Its a disaster for Britain as it enters uncharted waters. Sterling will become weaker by the day. The Brits will soon realize what a blunder this has been. Still. I'm getting out but much poorer than yesterday.
Sure, I understood that, mate, I just felt it was a good idea to labour the point for the benefit of those who didn't get it.
Hang on to your pounds Milti, they will recover. This happens every time there is some sort of political upset. The speculators make millions panic selling, and then buy back GBP at a cheap rate ...... the price recovers and they make even more money! My prediction ...... the GBP will recover much of these losses within a couple of weeks.
Tim: It could be a disaster if all the Brits do is join the 'remain' side sobbing into their handkerchiefs. What the UK now needs to do is to seize the opportunity they now have and run with the ball. I see no reason why we don't just carry on trading with Europe as we have done for years .... it suits them and it suits us. If the European Leaders want to make life difficult, then we do the same to them. I am sure we could come to a mutually beneficial trade deal with Russia!
