The best year for Cyprus was 1997 with Hara and Andreas Konstantinou (Mana Mou).

Anyway, this is how pointless it is.

There is no way in friggin hell Cyprus was the 21st best song in the competition. More like very close to the top song.

Ukraine was not the best at all. Russia was also no good. Just goes to show that the young ones will go for any cheap Euro trash.

But politically, it is fantastic Ukraine was supported if it gives the poor people of Ukraine some comfort and brings attention to their problems.

The best songs were easily the following:
Australia, Cyprus, and Belgium.

This proves, that Cyprus could pay Guns N' Roses 10 million to perform for Cyprus in Eurovision and it still won't win because its Cyprus.

Australia could bring AC/DC and it will never be voted by the Europeans.

Eurovision is total trash and I reckon Cyprus shouldn't even waste its time.

The UK wasn't as bad either. They were bashed politically because of their euroskepticism.

Many countries were harshly treated and bashed but this is not about the best song.

Cyprus should be very happy with its performance. It was good. Very good!

And would you believe Minus One's alter ego shot to number 1 on the Swedish alternative chart.

Unbelievable
Eurovision really isn't about the songs is it?

No it's not mate.

Taste is a subjective thing in music, but 21st is a totally crap result which the Cypriot song didn't deserve.

Countries were voting in blocks in case you didn't notice. There were political alliances as well.

So the 'ranking' doesn't count for sh** and shouldn't be taken seriously.

What Eurovision is essentially, is a platform from where new and unknown artists can get exposure.
Not reallyy a competition but a showcase.

I think Australia would be rejoicing that Russia didn't win, so we like playing political games ourselves and shirtfront the Russians wherever and whenever we can! It's great fun!

Great song selection by Ukraine, and great to see Europe stick it up the Russians! 8)

I really don't care if they were NAZI supporting. It still doesn't warrant their deportation to Death camps.

great political message was sent to Pootin which is as valid today as in 1944.

During WW2, NAZI soldiers would fear the Australian Army. There was a reason for that. About a third of Australian Soldiers were descendants of the German Royalist from Prussia who were persecuted. Who btw, still revere the Greek Monarch Constantine who was invited to cut the ribbon of a German Lutheran Private School in Adelaide.

Any NAZI Soldier captured by Australia was executed by firing squad. So the NAZIs were hellbent never to surrender to Australian Troops. They would prefer to surrender to the Americans or Brits but not Russians or Australians. But it is still a War Crime. Thankfully, we won the war.

The only other country to execute Germans on capture was Russia. Still a War Crime by them who were even a lot worse.

The crimean Tarters suffered a lot under Stalin in the 20's as a result of artificial famine induced by Forced collectivisation and other alleged reforms. A few, as did a few from many Europeam states, joined the Nazi war machine, engaging in murdering jews, while some were compelled to cooperate with the Nazis simply to stay alive during the occupation of Crimea by Nazi Forces, and that was used as the excuse.

As for Rolfie, born and bred in Australia....

I visited Australia a few years back and got asked at passport control if I had a criminal record.. Yes, i replied, my Grandma gave me copy of "two little boys" by Rolf Harris and if that was not a criminal record I dont know what was.

That's a good disco song that MJ would've probably liked to have sung himself, but that little Belgian thing that sung it didn't look disco and couldn't dance disco so the performance just didn't match the sound... you gotta look the part. :?

Sailing a bit close to the wind there. Australian Security is renowned for their lack of humour. Personally, they should have tossed you into the "interview" rooms until they had every bit of your history. They don't like Brits either.

As for Rolf Harris, he is most certainly a British Citizen returning to his roots. He is no longer welcome. You can keep him because we don't like kiddy fiddlers in Australia.

Did you have a VISA? I'm friggin amazed they let a snotty Brit in. We have an illegal immigration problem with Brits overstaying their welcome. Friggin Brits don't want to leave which is an awful shame really.

doesn't take much for them to refuse your entry. i hope you were squeaky clean. They are also known to take finger prints and a retina scan now.

But who is gonna teach YOU Turko boy? I cringe when I see your peasant posts…

Btw, what are those peasant Tatars doing over there where they don’t belong?

Seems like a recurring theme with you Turkish peasants… can’t stick to your own country eh!
