SEPTUAGENARIAN IN 30 HOURS !!

Postby miltiades » Sat May 07, 2016 7:16 pm

I have had quite a lot of ...birthdays, only recall celebrating my 21st, a ...century ago, and of recent my 65th.

Never before have I felt the approaching on Monday the 9th May as pronounced and anticipatory as I do now.

Not that I plan anything remotely exciting but just the thought of reaching the...young age of 70 and in good health give or take diabetes and prostate cancer  it is nevertheless a milestone in ones life. You learn a great deal as you get older, provided that you keep mentally active and have a .....young gorgeous wife or a ...mistress!! Only joking .

Those of you who have known me since I was a ...very young boy some ten years ago will also be conversant with my views on a number of issues not least religion, and here I repeat for the umpteenth time. There is NO Creator, God was the creation of medieval man, religion is the curse of modern day humanity.

However, since this Monday I shall go to work as per usual, hopefully later in the week I shall visit my MOT in Belarus, she has a birthday present for me, the anticipation is ...killing me.

Finally, let me once again categorically state that being born A Cypriot in Paradise island has been the greatest gift that life has given me, more so born in Stroumbi The Great, Paphos, the capital of Cyprus :

Thank you both !! I'm rather excited at the prospect of .....GR sending me his ...warmest wishes

Last year he kindly determined my lifespan coming to an end in February 2016. Alive and kicking or rather alive and plodding along!!

There is a story to come soon, May the 9th is Victory day for Belarus, I do believe in numbers, dates, and other such coincidences , will elaborate shortly.

Do not hold your breath, waiting for his felicitations, or you may make his wish come true.... :D :D

Some of my favourite people (and donkeys) were born in May. Love the month.

Have a wonderful 70th birthday tomorrow whatever you are doing, my darling fellow Paphian and very (too?) close neighbour. :D

All the best to you, Milti! Enjoy.

My own next birthday with a number ending in zero will also be 70. Seven more years to go. I hope to make it, and intend to enjoy it, if / when I do.

More than half a lifetime ago, approaching 30, I went batshit for a couple of months. 30 sounded so mature, settled, serious - which I knew I wasn't, at the time. When the date passed, I swore to myself that I'd never again be upset by any birthday, and I haven't been. 40, 50, 60, passed with good cheer.

Have some special wine to celebrate.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be young again if the option existed. Sure, I would like to look as I did at 30 and have the same energy; but the inexperience, the emotional ignorance? No way!

Be well, be happy. To 120.

Thank you both, gorgeous ladies. Never met either of you but talked to both of you on the telephone,

David Attenborough's 90th birthday today, May the 8th. He looks great for his age, still has his own hair and teeth!!!

I'm off to Belarus next Sunday the 15th, a party, rather belated, will be held, as always I shall be the ....oldest in the family
