Hi,

Hi - most likely we'd be shot if we went there so not very likely to visit till Turkey removes her troops and ends her illegal occupation of this part of Cyprus.

...sadly, i fear, when the water from Turkey is flowing, this beautiful journey will be no more. Let's not forget that the water will be for this region's development primarily, with new "Citizens", and new settlers, Erdogan has as an intention to develop this very region, apparently for cucumbers, and hotels. In any case, only 25% of the water is slated for consumption, the rest is for (private) enterprise.

...something to think about.

@Greekislandgirl, to be honest, I really don't know how I have to react to your message. No political stuff on my subject please. I go there for hiking (I hike in all Cyprus). I go in the Karpass with Greek-Cypriots friends passionate of trails (walk and bike trails). Thousands of people used the trails there every year. I respect at 100% the fact that you do not like some people, but nobody is shot by going to walk there. I would ask you to write your political comments, which have no sense, on another subject of discussion. If you have some articles proving what you say (hikers shot), could you please send them to me. I really would like to be informed... I walk for my health, not to lose it:))

A little sensitivity is all that is required.

(Thousands have been shot, since you ask: but as you also say, you don't want the politics.)

Have you tried this one in Crete Rudy, it's only one way down the gorge, return by boat.

PS regarding being shot, it's not a good idea to take any photos of anything military in Cyprus, even warships out at sea.

I really would like to believe you greekislandgirl...can you please send me some proofs of it. As I told you, I would like to avoid some problems... It's probably somewhere in a report of the UN, in the newspapers, somewhere to the European Court, to the Human rights Court......thousands of people shot during a trail...That does not have to go unnoticed (not sure it's correct:))) That means it's probably written somewhere:)). You have a beautiful eye Greekislandgirl.

@Jerry....Thank you very much . My god, it looks fantastic. I just watched a video on youtube....If somebody is ready to go, we can organize a group from Cyprus.

Sure, but given that much of this land (about 82%) that you trail across belongs to evicted GC's and as such are prevented from going there. Your insensitive post is best placed on some Turkish fora that have stolen this land that you so love to go to.

Basically what you are doing is raping another man's wife and displaying her knickers to him and then expect him to be happy about it.

Yes Cyprus does have beautiful places but when it is under illegal military occupation, it sort of destroys the appetite.

...i appreciate the photographs, although it tears my heart apart, i would join you, but i too fear the consequences of my choice could be my life.

I hope that while you travel north, in the area illegally occupied by the Turkish Army, you remember, they are an enemy to all of us, Turkish and Greek alike, who are Cypriot, because they and the regime that goes with it are not here for the benefit of Cyprus, never mind the Cypriots.

...cher rudy, politics aside, buy Cypriot, find them they are not so hard to find, although they are few, don't go (don't buy) to (from) the xenos, make that effort, please.
