I was looking for sumatriptane, a drug against migraines. According to the official government list (http://www.moh.gov.cy/Moh/phs/phs.nsf/dmlpricelist_en/dmlpricelist_en?OpenDocument) 6 tablets of 100 mg each cost € 25,49. However, at all pharmacies I asked at I was told that those are not available in Cyprus, but only 2 tablets of 50 mg each for € 13.13.

Can this really be the case? Any ideas where to get it?

Ask in more pharmacies... if that is what they have then that is what they have! An alternative is to order online... but make sure you use a reputable store.

Ich habe ein bischen Forschung mit Griechische Buchstabe gemacht, aber leider habe ich nichts gefunden. Ich kenne niemand in Zypern der Apotheke hat aber ich habe mein Vater per Email gefragt ob er jemand kennt. Wenn ich resultataen habe dann sage ich bescheid.

Can you order medicines online in Cyprus? Can anybody recommend an online store selling drugs? What if you need a subscription (at least in Germany, where I´m from as well in South Africa, where my girlfriend (who needs it) is from you´d need a presription for Sumatriptane)?

Most of the Forumers here should probably be on some form of medication for clinical insanity ....


medicine supply in Cyprus is something of a mess, possibly because it is so highly controlled by the state, and that is not just restrictions on who can buy what with prescription over or under the counter without for valid medical safety reasons but general restrictions and price controls....

My own doctor sometimes heads North to pick up some medications which are simply not imported here but which he thinks his patients could use....
