My Public Apology

Postby miltiades » Mon Feb 29, 2016 1:56 pm

I have known Pahitis for a number of years now, although we never met, we talked on the phone once in a very cordial and friendly, and exhanged numerous emails all very polite and very friendly. His father is from Paphos, I beleive from Yeroskipou, not that far from my village.

A few years back, some might remember, I was raising money for Ayios Stephanos home in Limassol. Without asking Paphitis for a donation he promtly sent 100 euros which was very much appreciated.

Our differences developed over the last few months mainly to do with events in Syria where we have opposing views. I do have a sense of humour and referred to him as General Plonker, or Chemical Ali. As an older man I should have refrained from such comments and should have done what I did yesterday, PMed Paphitis and we both apologised for insults against each other. I can take insults all day long but I highly object to derogatory comments directed at members of my family, something I have never done on this forum.

I apologise publicly to Paphitis and I do hope that we both have the required strength to forgive each other.

I agree ...... absolutely, well done. I hope they can 'kiss and make up' as both are good posters ..... even if they do on occasion get a bit carried away! :argue:  :D

What's happened here?

Why a one way apology?

Has Paphitis gone off in a huff?
