Wanted to arrive in Minsk daytime rather than the Belavia flight that gets me into Minsk at 7.20 pm so I flew with Ukraine air via Kiev and after an hours wait I got on the plane for the hour's flight to Minsk arriving at 11 am on Sunday. Time to have lunch and a few drinks with MOT who anxiously awaited for her....Prince to arrive Brought with me the usual Milano Salami and Italian Parma Ham but this time some genuine Cypriot halloumi, very fond of these Cypriot delicacies she is

We have a favourite restaurant in Minsk, very Belarussian with excellent food, gorgeous waitresses Cypriot friendly since they still displayed the Cypriot flag I presented them on my last visit. They have many flags of the world over the foyer but couldn't help noticing that the Turkish flag, what originally prompted me to " forceoffer" the Cypriot flag, was no longer displayed. I wondered if the recent downing of the Russian plane had anything to do with this.

After a wonderful meal, a bottle or two of vino we made our way to our apartment, weather not so bad for this time of the year just above zero c. My visit was rather short but thoroughly pleasant and very relaxing, returning to London last Wednesday.

At almost 70 I did not want a reminder of my age, that is until I arrived home and found a letter from DVLA REQUESTING ME TO RENEW MY LICENSE !!!! Have been driving for 45 years how dare they, legally, demand that I renew my license !!!

That is when you realize that you are getting ...on a bit !!
In order to pre-empt and unwelcome intrusions from the usual plonkers let me tell them from now that I will....wipe the floor with them
