I also have a question concerning what I've read so far. You said you paid 33 pounds to the travel agent. Can you tell us what 33 pounds meant back then? Also where did you find all that money at the age of 15, considering what you said that you were hiding it from your father?
I remember my late mother saying she was saving money to buy a plot by the traffic lights of Honda in Nicosia, which was on sale for 50 pounds...

Great questions Pyro?

In the beginning it all started with chocolate bars from the British troops.

Can you imagine an EOKA ANE taking chocolates from the enemy?

In the latter days of the fifties, the Brits were offering rewards for the capture of EOKA fighters [or information] and, depending upon the outcome of actions or investigations, sums of money into many thousands of pounds were made available.

Even schoolchildren were targeted, some of them may have succumbed to temptation and acted in a manner which placed them in danger of being sought after by the EOKA fighters themselves, they may have been obliged to flee Cyprus and seek refuge elsewhere.

We may never know of their identities BUT, there is nothing wrong with harboring suspicions since many a good patriot paid with their lives as a result of such treachery whilst the informers [the curse of Jayzus on 'em] feathered their nests with "Blood Money".

"I" [along with multitudes of others] would NEVER "Grass" on anyone BUT, there ARE those who wouldn't think twice about it.

I am sure that [to this day] there are old EOKA fighters who would not welcome such collaborators in their midst and "I" [if I ever became aware of any] would break my own code of ethics and "Grass" them up and that's a fact. 8)

What is also interesting is how the little weazel slipped through EOKA's net.

My father was one of those schoolchildren who had to flee Cyprus for fear of being killed by EOKA, not because he was a traitor, in fact he regularly risked his life to rid Cyprus of the British, but because he supported AKEL. What have you to say to that Gravy?

Did he talk in any way shape or form with the British?

You see, fighting to get rid of the British does not involve talking with the other Russian imperialists. Greece was a member of NATO and if you were fighting that, then he was a natural enemy and target of EOKA.

However, regretfully I have a plane to catch and no further time until this coming Wednesday.I have also decided that I will ignore the two Fing idiots, you know the one whose ....army and goal is to topple Assad and of course the Pervert who wants Isis to rule ... Britannia. Both are just not worth a response so hence forth they shall be ignored.

Have a great time and talk on Wednesday, MOT is ...waiting!!

Wanted to arrive in Minsk daytime rather than the Belavia flight that gets me into Minsk at 7.20 pm so I flew with Ukraine air via Kiev and after an hours wait I got on the plane for the hour's flight to Minsk arriving at 11 am on Sunday. Time to have lunch and a few drinks with MOT who anxiously  awaited for her....Prince to arrive  Brought with me the usual Milano Salami and Italian Parma Ham but this time some genuine Cypriot halloumi, very fond of these Cypriot delicacies she is

We have a favourite restaurant in Minsk, very Belarussian with excellent food, gorgeous waitresses Cypriot friendly since they still displayed the Cypriot flag I presented them on my last visit. They have many flags of the world over the foyer but couldn't help noticing that the Turkish flag, what originally prompted me to " forceoffer" the Cypriot flag, was no longer displayed. I wondered if the recent downing of the Russian plane had anything to do with this.

After a wonderful meal, a bottle or two of vino we made our way to our apartment, weather not so bad for this time of the year just above zero c. My visit was rather short but thoroughly pleasant and very relaxing, returning to London last Wednesday.

At almost 70 I did not want a reminder of my age, that is until I arrived home and found a letter from DVLA REQUESTING ME TO RENEW MY LICENSE !!!! Have been driving for 45 years how dare they, legally, demand that I renew my license !!!

That is when you realize that you are getting ...on a bit !!
In order to pre-empt and unwelcome intrusions from the usual plonkers let me tell them from now that I will....wipe the floor with them
