Britain: Fighting EOKA...and Still!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Britain: Fighting EOKA...and Still!

Hmmmmm....I really wonder how the original Cyprus Republic was formed, against whose wishes! There's no denying that Britain was terrorised and threatened by EOKA to relinquish the island back in 1959! I guess if you want something the only way to get it is to grab it!

Us Brits have never forgotten what you did to our people!

You are a Brit now? Haven't you been a Turk until now? In any case, both Brits and Turks are foreign to Cyprus. They came to our island for the sole reason of expanding their empires by enslaving the Cypriot people and stealing our resources.

Love it Sotos,

So the British Soverign areas are on "Greek Cypriop" property now are they? LOL

And, what happened to your all mighty so called "Cypriot" government when Britain decided that Air Strikes to Syria were to be conducted from our British bases in Cyprus?

And as for my British nationality, that has always come first as I never told you that I were 100% Turkish Cypriot, thus only you assumed so! I am British, half English as a matter of fact, through and through - while my Turkish Cypriot half sympathies with them due to the hardship and injustices that they had encountered from 1960-74!

Remember Sotos, I am a lot older than you and a lot more Cypriot than what you could ever be, and Impartial than you could imagine!

Given what you have just admitted I am sure you must be joking  All Cyprus belongs to the native Cypriots. All others are foreign invaders and their presence is only temporary.

Cousin Lordo seems to have buggered off the forum for now, but comedians like MrH are always welcome to fill the gaps.

You seem rather confused.

That book doesn't make any such judgment that Britain was terrorised at all. It acknowledges the insurgency (a rebellion) against their authority.

Fighting EOKA: The British Counter-Insurgency Campaign on Cyprus, 1955-1959 Hardcover – 19 Mar 2015
by David French (Author)

It also describes how the Turkish Cypriot minority wanted to divide the island.

It's also one of the few British books to label the EOKA struggle as paramilitary action. Great! :) :D .

So, thanks to Mr H's illiteracy - there's another possible book to delve into .... if I had the time ... :P

I have started investigating how the filthy Brits imported the Rotary & Free-Mason clubs in Cyprus.

It's been an interesting study so far...
