...well said.
It starts here. Cypriots united, against "them", whoever they are because of the harm they bring to the rest of us.
...such respect and trust, defending Universal Principals remains our duty as Individuals, for Freedom.
...and as Persons, in a BBF, at another level of Government we may nurture, Liberty, distinct identities, as majorities our Goodwill to the minorities living among us.
...who against Erdogan's intentions for "Turkishness" would reject brave acts, like Cypriots making souvla on their beach under the one Flag, as the People, rightfully theirs, peacefully having fun? Hope, such enosis brings Hope to all who have at their very core the same values and integrity.
And who treats the Flag of Cyprus as a rag, i ask? (Who in Turkey, and in Greece, to their own Flags; who but "them") Indeed who would be exposed, if those considered too few or non-existent would gather representing the other half, the half ignored who for decades do not vote for extremists or those caught up in the mythic fantasies. These are (usually) the "facts on the ground"; those silenced by those who are not silent, (except at the polls, where voting is private). (e.g. hard to be a Republican (or a Democrat), as an American, and in that regard in their own states as well.)
...indeed, if Erdogan wants to leave a Legacy that will be of Historic proportions, (for Turkey's Centennial in two years), it will be by bringing Peace to the whole region; what happens here, in Cyprus, is important, at the root of the Problem, seemingly reduced to the "Cyprus problem", one among many, the Problem remains. Cypriots will provide the answer, something to emulate, in our coming together against a Leadership which excludes "others", which acts just as viciously against reason, and those who are proponents of it. Such as it is, Erdogan may turn on a dime, he has done it before, he may do it again.
Turkish Cypriots are the vanguard in 'our' fight against the bane, "Turkishness'' presents in our lives. They must first overcome the will of the "Cypriot Turks" with acts of public demonstration, as the People, if as a Constituency they are willing to express their existence in their own society as half, and not "few".
...indeed, such an act supports "Turkishness" but not the "Turkishness" of men like Erdogan, instead, that of Turkish speaking people.
Do you doubt that the same half in the "south" would not join them; i don't. The motivation to say, "I am Cypriot" is there; as much as there is to say, "asiktir Turkiye", and as the People, to speak, demanding such change from a so-called Leadership, both impotent, more concerned with the power they have than the power as people the People may have no longer divided so unnaturally.
