The Turkish Cyprus Federation in the UK have finally won and started their aggressive campaign for the Recognition of "Northern Cyprus" ahead of the failure of the UN Talks, and AGAINST Turkey's wishes!

For the first time, the Turkish Cypriots abroad, after years of campaigning and building up a very large portfolio of sympathisers and contributors from all aspects of the political and economic establishment, have won their ground in receiving assurances that Northern Cyprus will be accepted as a "Seperate Cypriot state" should the talks fail. Quote taken from the KONSEY UK Leader for the TRNC.

However, in order to avoid a repeat of not securing such a similar deal in 2004 after the last failure of the UN Cyprus plan, those external contributors have allowed certain initiatives to commence prior to any proposed Cyprus referendum - which is a first!

...we are looking forward to the recognition of Turkey, for a Republic of Cyprus which already exists; like in Turkey where the Flag of Turkey represents all Turks without further distinction or discrimination, so too the Flag of Cyprus for Cypriots. One hopes if there is representation for Persons at another level of government in Cyprus, for Turkish Cypriots, such a solution may offer to the disabused minorities in Turkey an end to their plight as well.

KONSEY is the UK authority for All Turkish Cypriots based dealings and affairs Federation head that all associations have to answer to. It's also the only Turkish Cypriot diaspora Federation which has direct involvement in the UK parliament and the EU, and more importantly whom Turkey goes through in its dealings with all Turkish Cypriot affairs abroad. KONSEY is very powerful indeed, and for the first time has advised Turkey that it will be playing "outside of the Turkish UN policy in seeking a Federal Cyprus agreement" due to the "unpresidented time that has been wasted for the Turkish Cypriots in brokering such an agreement". Therefore, for the first time and in full collaboration of the UK government, the Turkish Cypriot Council abroad are collectively seeking their own methods in working towards a Negotiated partition of the "Turkish Cypriot Republic". It's first contacts are to secure it's observer position at the OIC and seek it's upgrade. Other methods currently known only are to offer areas of North Cyprus as a Free Zone, integrate all of its service with that of Turkey in gaining an international presence until those entities are able to adopt them as the Turkish Cypriot State in the future. Also, there is current talk of allowing Ercan airport as an airport of Turkey Northern Cyprus until the appropriate international authorities are able to recognise it as it's Turkish Cypriot "Federal" arm in the future. This method of negotiation with many companies and international players will be applied to all Turkish Cypriot components in the future.

There are many more situations of interests that are being adopted now due to the lose of Liberties of the Turkish Cypriot people while the UN Talks were started in 1963.

The KONSEY council has also said that the Turkish Cypriots will no longer be regarded as second citizens and embargoed people while the UN's search for a Cyprus settlement. If the Greek Cypriots can enjoy international recognition as the Republic of Cyprus while these infamous talks have been going on for over 40 years, so can the Turkish Cypriots, and Turkey for the first time will no longer get involved with our aspirations for statehood - which used to be the case!

Typical Greek Cypriot talk. You always forget that we do not Recognise the Current hijacked Republic of Cyprus administered by the Greek Cypriots, hence why the UN and EU are desperately seeking a BBF. Stop talking nonsense and read up on why your Greek Cypriot President is Ordered in seeking a BBFederal agreement and is unable to integrate the Turkish Cypriots into your current Republic. It's the same talk in this forum yap yap yap rubbish rubbish rubbish.

You just don't get it. No MUTUAL BBF Comprehensive Federal agreement, no stop negotiations. It's that simple.

All what KONSEY are saying is that we are seeking out own road like what Kosovo and Serbia did. We are no longer going to WAIT pointlessly for a comprehensive as the Embargoed entity. The decision has been made.

If the Greek Cypriots were sincere, they would have been able to integrate the Turkish Cypriots by recognising the TRNC as an independent Federated state away from Turkey and cleverly muster support for its integration, but your government chose the blame game and supported Turkey's policy of the continuation of the status quo. The Greek Cypriots have more power than they realise if they chose to recognise our federal entity, but obviously the everyday GC on the road doesn't understand the higher politics. The government is lying to you.
