A two state solution? Isn't that just like legitimising the illegal 1974 invasion?

No thank you. Fuck off.

But as separation has been the TC goal for a couple of generations it should be given to them to the hilt. None of this open check points lark and double dipping in properties, social insurance, pensions, ID card and passports. Total separation now and be done with it. Let them enjoy Enosis with Turkey, and leave us to our Taksim.

Funny how the nationalist goals reversed themselves in such a short time.

And keep that flag on the mountain, it is useful as the only really truthful statement ever made by the TC community.

Nikita wales, Scotland and England are all Christian . You are wrong about ex Yugoslavia as I have Serbian friends and if you call that peace than no thanks to that sort of solution . With Cyprus the issue is that you have been seperated so long that the only solution is I have to agree with you total separation . Also I totally object to a mountain being ruined with a flag . I love nature in its natural form not ruined by mans stupid symbols of identity or lack of. I am totally against all this flag waving nationalistic bull shit . I am only for seperation to keep both communities in a peacfull and safe environment as I believe majority of all Cypriots probably feel it's too late to bring the old days back . I am totally for a solution that will ensure a safe environment for all Cypriots to live in but that is not possible unless you all think like me but you don't so stay seperated

...i am still hopeful that Cypriots will celebrate their diversity as a strength, and as Cypriots.

Celebrate as Cypriots when the rotating president can be 100 per cent settler? Voted by less than 50 per cent of his community and presiding over the majority of whome none could vote for him?

Kind of hard to figure that one.

...in my Cyprus a President is elected by all the people by winning the majority of the votes where every elector votes in exactly the same way.

(read my manifesto thingy and the other topics related to it)

...in my Cyprus, it is not the ethnicity of a man that counts, to be President, but Principal.

...a rotating Presidency makes no sense to me either.

...how about one in five elections, by ethnicity, a Turcophone who is Cypriot, must be elected? Does that sound Modern, or sensible to everyone?

...it doesn't to me. As a Cypriot, i want to vote for the Candidate that has the best platform, for Cyprus. When it comes to "Greekness", or "Turkishness", (or Maronite, Armenian, and Latin), at another level of Government, i would like to choose as an elector from the candidates, best suited to sustain and promote, as Persons, as Constituencies, these distinct identities. This to me is BBF and suitable to "being" Cypriot.

indeed. If it is so important for there to exist "Greek" and "Turkish" representatives, everyone regardless of their ethnicity should be voting one of each. Thus, if it was the desire of Cypriots to remove the bias ethnicity may have to Universal Principals, the seats in the legislature would be equally split. If the legislature is Bicameral, population by population, demographics, regional disparities, could find their own voice in the second Chamber. In effect, if each Citizen had three votes from three separate slates, Political Parties would not win from their capacity to represent "Greekness", or "Turkishness", it would be virtually impossible to win a majority of seats unless they appealed to the voting public on Principal. The President's ethnicity matters very little in such a case, only that as a Cypriot, Cypriots as Cypriots have elected them.
