It's got nothing to do with the USA. That is only one small part.
Countries will take measures to protect their citizens from possible terrorist attacks. Even China is doing the same because they were hit only a few years ago by Islamist extremists which killed 30 people. The phenomena is global and especially prevalent in the West as most high value targets are in Europe, UK, USA and Australia.
It's our tax money at work behind the scenes. So many terrorist attacks have been foiled in the UK and Australia at least because these 2 countries actually disclose any unsuccessful attempts and there have been numerous. Who knows how many lives have been saved.
I am certain that USA and other European countries have foiled many attempts also.
There is nothing wrong with the efforts of our Security Agencies and I for one am very grateful for their great work. They are there to protect all of us.
