I told you guys that the Coalition will bring an end to Assad's rule. It's only a matter of time.
You do make me laugh mate!!
Well it's not a laughing matter for you I'm afraid.
I've been saying this for a long time.
And the UN Special Envoy is the one who reiterated Russia's position and willingness to negotiate a transition plan for Syria with the Coalition at the next summit.
It was on HardTalk (BBC) and the UN Special Envoy seemed like a good bloke.
He even seen that it has been Pootin's wish to see transition in Syria for a long time and that they actually see it as critical to peace and stability.
You talk convenient nonsense.
YOU have always maintained exactly the opposite.
YOUR coalition is a hindrance to a solution and Trump appears to have recognised that. As such it will be the UN, US and Russia that will lead any settlement plan.
YOUR coalition is an irrelevance, when will you realise you are just proxies .... contractors ,working under US' direction.
BTW: Yes, de Mistura is a very astute man and knowledgeable on the situation, unlike his interviewer Sackur, who was as biased as you with his questioning to the point of being insulting to Mistura. Sackur reminded me of you in his approach quoting all the usual clichés about Assad and Putin. They were talking about a solution, when Mistura said that was what Russia wanted ....... Sackur was apoplectic and, with raised voice and an indignant tone, said "....
but on HIS (Putins)terms!!!!". Why not ? Whose terms should be used .... the US's, the Terrorists? Sackur is a bad journalist.
But
'Assad must go' is not part of the deal, quite the opposite. Assad will remain President and stabilise Syria if he does not have to fight an insurgency by foreign backed Jihadists, which is what most of the terrorists he faces are. It was the US that armed them and has encouraged them and thus has caused the death and destruction. Once the country is stabilised, as Putin has always said, it is then up to the Syrian people to decide their future without interference from outside and that includes Russia. Putin has stuck to this line for over a year, it is the US that has pushed the so called '
Transition' which in Kerry's mind was Assad must go in disguise.
There have been many opportunities to bring the fighting to an end by strangling the supply of weapons to terrorists. But every time Assad and Russia has installed a pause in hostilities, the US has taken the opportunity to rearm and regroup the terrorists.
The blame for failure to bring this conflict to an end lies squarely on the illegal action of the US and its so called coalition, a coalition of criminals as they breach International Law with every action they take part in or support in Syria. That is an unarguable fact.
