I share your sentiments, but let's not jump the gun. You can't arrest somebody just because they are thinking about robbing a bank. They have to actually commit the crime first. Let him make a few blunders. With a bit of luck, he'll go the way of Nixon.

No doubt, much to the mortification of Paphitis ...... the policy in Syria has already been revised!

Nusra On The Run - Trump Induces First Major Policy Change On Syria

The Obama administration, through the CIA led by Saudi asset John Brennan, fed weapons, training and billions of dollars to "moderate rebels". These then turned around (vid) and either gave the CIA gifts to al-Qaeda in Syria (aka Jabhat al Nusra) or joined it themselves. The scheme was no secret at all and Russia as well as Syria pointed this out several times. The Russian foreign Minister Lavrov negotiated with the U.S. secretary of State Kerry who promised to separate the "moderate rebels" from al-Qaeda. But Kerry never delivered. Instead he falsely accuse Russia of committing atrocities that never happened. The CIA kept the upper hand within the Obama administration and continued its nefarious plans.
That changed the day the president-elect Trump set foot into the White House. While Obama met Trump in the oval office, new policies, prepared beforehand, were launched. The policies were held back until after the election and would likely not have been revealed or implemented if Clinton had won.The U.S. declared that from now on it will fight against al-Qaeda in Syria:

• President Obama has ordered the Pentagon to find and kill the leaders of an al-Qaeda-linked group in Syria that the administration had largely ignored until now and that has been at the vanguard of the fight against the Syrian government, U.S. officials said.

• That shift is likely to accelerate once President-elect Donald Trump takes office ...... possibly in direct cooperation with Moscow.

• U.S. officials who opposed the decision to go after al-Nusra’s wider leadership warned that the United States would effectively be doing the Assad government's bidding by weakening a group on the front line of the counter-Assad fight.

• Defense Secretary Ashton B. Carter and other Pentagon leaders initially resisted the idea of devoting more Pentagon surveillance aircraft and armed drones against al-Nusra.

I was just listening to an interesting piece on the BBC's today programme. They played a clip of Trump adressing a crowd while campaigning in Pennsylvania and receiving rapturous applause when promising to abolish Obamacare. The commentator then asked why people would be so happy about something like the right to healthcare being removed from millions of people. Well, it turns out that it is not that simple. It seems that under Obamacare, people who are deemed able to do so - and many of them are not very highly paid - must take out health insurance or else they are fined. They then interviewed a low paid waitress in this self-same swing state who described how she could not afford to pay both her son's tuition fees and take out private health care, and chose the former. This led to her being fined which made her angry, and this anger lead her into voting for a Republican presidential candidate for the first time in her life.

More support for the argument that a change of president is just smoke and mirrors, and policies made by the real decision makers behind the scenes just go on.

Eh? These instructions counter what the ' behind the scenes' actions have been to date ......... Al-Nusra was treated as one of the good terrorists ....... and as Kerry couldn't tell the difference ....... he armed them all!

'Assad must GO!' is now history. When DT talks to Putin .... IMO: he will hand Syria to The Russians and Syria to sort out , which they will then be able to do, as the terrorists arms supplies will stop, ..... and the US will complete its obligations to Iraq in cooperation with the Russian's (Syrian) Command.

You know, that is completely not on!

Trump won the elections fair and square. If I was to vote, it would have been for Clinton. Every other election and it would have been for the Republicans, including George W Bush.

Even the anti Trump protests are ridiculous. People need to accept the verdict of the American people. There is no higher authority than the people.

Personally, I am looking at the positives. Trump can do a lot of good. For one, I like the fact that he is so politically incorrect and prepared to call a Spade.

He won't be able to do many of the things he said for the popular vote.

One of his senior advisors is Cypriot as well. So Cyprus is on the map now.

Calling Israel a “ray of hope,” Trump released the statement to the Israel HaYom newspaper, which is owned by prominent Jewish Republican donor, Sheldon Adelson. I told you before!

US Foreign Policies are inherited. The objectives never change. It's an apparatus and Deep State, and the POTUS is the figure Head a bit like a Monarch.

There will be no change so Pootin can be reassured that he will have the presence of the Coalition in Syria until a comprehensive settlement and until DAESH are defeated by it.

It's the same thing in Australia. It doesn't matter if there is a Labor or Liberal/Conservative Government. The Department of Foreign Affairs, Defence Department, ASIO and ASIC are the Deep State. And the Deep State will never allow anyone or any Party to upset the apple cart over certain issues.

Remember, these countries funded a terrorist organization in Sinn Fein. Australia against its own Monarch (kid you not) along with America. Millions worth in embezzlements sent over as political donations through mysterious Australian and American NGOs. Why?

Have you ever noticed a change in Foreign Policy?

Note: "......that the (Current ?) administration had largely ignored until now...... "

Read the whole article ...... this proposal was sitting in a locked drawer just in case Trump won. He did ! ..... otherwise it would have gone straight into the trash can and it would have been business as usual ........ which would have delighted Paphitis ....... and no doubt you?

So a change in the Presidency to a person they just did not believe was possible ..... because 'they' believed their own bullshit. ......and as a result the policy changes. You obviously find that difficult to understand. Imminent change of President invoked change of Policy ! :Yes?

I tend to agree with you. I think you will find that POTUS has a lot more clout when it comes to foreign policy than he does when it comes to domestic policy.

We will know when he starts getting it right ...... somebody will or at least will attempt to kill him! Remember JFK and Executive Order 11110 ? LBJ revoked it on the plane on the way back from Dallas, and JFK was still warm. That is going to be Trumps biggest challenge when he starts to 'drain the swamp' ! :o :x
