It looks almost certain that Trump will be the next US President. Against all odds he has come through as the likely winner of this election.
New York Times now gives Trump 95% probability of being the next President of the USA.

Up to now . 4.45 am he leads Clinton with 232 EVs to Clintons 209, needing 38 to be officially declared the winner.

Paphitis, as always, got wrong. Miltiades got it right !!

It is interesting to watch all these commentators who started the evening with 'Trump doesn't stand a chance.' and are now having to change their tune !' They are all looking very glum and trying the 'if' this and 'if' that tack, to make it look as if they were close. Looks like President Trump ..... and Hillary will go to jail! :lol:

He is now within 2 States/points of taking all the votes he needs and WILL be the next POTUS. It's another 'Brexit' ......... the arrogant experts misread the mood and will of the people. Now watch the dollar slide and the markets dive and watch those that lost, start blaming every woe that affects the US from now on, on the votes of the ignorant Red Necks. :roll:

One thing for certain is that President Trump will NOT be declaring a no fly zone in Syria averting a conflict with Russia.
Given what we so far know is that Trump gets on with Putin, for me this is of fundamental importance.

Will Trump stick to his pre election promise and go after Isis ? Will he join forces with Putin and destroy these medieval savages once and for all? Time will tell. In the meantime I offer my commiserations to Paphitis , I hope he does not take it too badly, many of us in the past have backed the wrong horse.

Lets hope that this wrenched war in Syria comes to an end soon and Syria begins to recover. Clinton had other ideas not least the removal of Assad and the ensuing chaos. Has Trump what it takes to come to the conclusion that Only Assad can restore peace in Syria? Time will tell.

I will stick my neck out right now and make a prediction regarding the US November elections.

Donald Trump will be the next US President, winning by a narrow margin. He was after all written off as a big joke on entering the race for the Republican nomination. He has surprised many by winning comfortably the Republican nomination.

Clinton, though ahead of most polls, does carry a lot of baggage that could get a lot more evident in a few months time. Im by no means implying that I support Trump, merely commenting on his chances of becoming the next US President. Americans are not entirely happy with mainstream politicians, many issues facing the US and they see Trump as one that can resolve many of these issues, not least the illegal immigrants.

Of course this does not imply in any shape or form that I support Trump, there again I do not support Clinton.

I will tell you something else now. There will be no " NO FLIGHT ZONE" in Syria, there will be no war with Russia, there will be NO removal of Assad and Trump will get on with your arch enemy just fine .

so you're completely wrong. This election is divided along traditional lines where middle America vote Republican and the major population centres vote democrat.

The only change is that this election has been emotionally charged on race and gender with more females and blacks preferring Hillary.

it's actually very exciting times.

All EU and asia pacific countries are now going to be forced to spend more on defence and build NATO Defences rather than expecting America to do all the heavy lifting. That's about all that will happen.

Australia, Japan, Germany, UK, France are all gonna cop it real good.

rather than using the Americans, they are gonna be expecting everyone to pull their weight.

Basically most countries were taking the piss with America. using and expecting everything from them. Well, that's gonna change.

More Arms spending for everyone to be at least the same level as US Spending on arms on a GDP basis.

The only country pulling its weight is Australia with its $50 Billion Sub project and the F-35 program as well as the Air Warfare Destroyers.
