Not that long ago Trump was trailing behind Clinton , she was ahead by almost 20 points.

Milti, this is a useless poll, regardless who was in the lead. Hillary will also get her "bounce" in the polls after the Democratic convention, but more importantly, it is the polls from each state that matters rather than a national poll since we do not elect the president based on most popular vote, but instead based on "electoral college vote". who ever get the most popular vote in a given state, wins ALL of the "Electoral College Vote", or simply put, who ever gets the 270 electoral college votes first, becomes the president.

As the Democrats appear to have switched to using that demon Putin as their weapon of last resort against Trump, I thought the following was appropriate?

An interesting observation and an entertaining read ...... the photo says it all ......................

The Power of “Nyet” - By Dmitry Orlov

Less funny is the impasse over Syria: the Americans have been continuously demanding that Russia go along with their plan to overthrow Bashar Assad. The unchanging Russian response has been: “Nyet, the Syrians get to decide on their leadership, not Russia, and not the US.” Each time they hear it, the Americans scratch their heads and… try again. John Kerry was just recently in Moscow, holding a marathon “negotiating session” with Putin and Lavrov. Above is a photo of Kerry talking to Putin and Lavrov in Moscow a week or so ago and their facial expressions are hard to misread. There’s Kerry, with his back to the camera, babbling away as per usual. Lavrov’s face says: “I can’t believe I have to sit here and listen to this nonsense again.” Putin’s face says: “Oh the poor idiot, he can’t bring himself to understand that we’re just going to say ‘nyet’ again.”

Kerry flew home with yet another “nyet.”

I understand the electoral system Kikapu, as for Clinton getting her " bounce" after the DC I m not so sure of this. She is not exactly liked by the majority of American voters from what I read. She lost to Obama for the Democratic nomination 6 or seven ago, and frankly Obama wasn't that of a challenge ! Trump is a challenge and he has been steadily making up lost ground. Polls are not always correct but indicative of changing attitudes of voters. A few months back Trump was way behind, as of now most polls having him ahead, only just, of Clinton. I'm not enthusiastic on Trump becoming the next US President and less so for Clinton too.

The next few months will present a clearer picture and I'm most eagerly awaiting to observe.

Obama could still today beat Clinton and Trump combined, if he was able to run again.

As I said before, wait until the 3 debates between Trump and Clinton are over to get a much clearer picture on poll numbers. Polls always gets closer and closer towards the elections, specially if there are no popular incumbent presidents running for second term. But state by state polls are the most important ones to watch and not the national polls.

For my good friend, Milti.

Again, it really doesn't mean too much at this point in time, but the more Trump puts his foot in his mouth, the more it will help Clinton go up in the polls. :D

Clinton Surges Ahead In Post-Convention Poll From CBS News

Hillary Clinton pulled ahead of Republican nominee Donald Trump by six points nationally following the Democratic National Convention, according to a CBS poll released Monday.

The Democratic nominee led 47-41 in the poll including leaning voters taken in the three days immediately following the Democratic convention in Philadelphia.

The new CBS survey showed Clinton with a 46-39 lead when respondents who were leaning in favor of one of the candidates weren't included.

When third-party candidates were included, Clinton polled at 43 percent, Trump at 38 percent, and Libertarian Gary Johnson at 10 percent, when including leaning voters.

Trump had a single-point lead, 44-43, in the CBS poll released last week after the Republican convention in Cleveland.

A Morning Consult poll released Sunday also showed Clinton ahead of Trump following the Democratic convention, 43-40. The Morning Consult poll reversed Trump's four-point lead following the Republican convention.

The CBS poll surveyed 1,131 registered voters by telephone nationally from July 29-31, with a margin of error of plus or minus three points.

The thing is with this years presidential elections, is that, if Trump wasn't running, Clinton would stand a very little chance of becoming a president against a "decent" Republican, and if Trump had another "decent" Democrat running against him instead of Clinton, he too wouldn't stand a chance winning, so in a way, Clinton and Trump are the best chance each have against each other in winning the presidential election this year, and even though Clinton is unpopular as she is, she will still win, because of her opponent, the illiterate, ignorant racist white-trash Trump. Clinton should count her lucky stars that of all the 17 republicans who were in the primaries, she is faced off with Trump, because any other Republican against her, she would have lost for sure.

The republican establishment plays for Clinton. They want to win in 2020.
