Someone could make a comparison between Trump and Reagan

"The horse race itself is swinging toward the billionaire businessman, who according to the Washington Post-ABC News poll has picked up 11 points since March, giving him a narrow 46%-44% lead. But the sum result in both surveys is a statistical dead heat. Clinton leads by 3 points, 46%-43%, in the NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Both results are within the margin of error.

Trump's recent bump coincides with a growing sense of acceptance among Republican establishment figures. From former primary opponents to elected officials on Capitol Hill, the GOP is broadly warming to its likely standard-bearer. "

This is a false reading I'm afraid, regarding Clinton and Trump being neck and neck, because at the moment, Sanders supporters are not giving their endorsement to Clinton while Sanders is still in the race, while Trump may have started to get more support from the Republicans. You really need to wait until both candidates officially become the nominees for their respective party and after the usual 3 debates between them are over, which will be sometime in October.

Very different.
Reagan was a neo-liberal conservative. Trump is a keynesian-nationalist.

I can’t say that I go much on Trump but I think of the two he is infinitely better for the Planet than Clinton! She is without doubt a NeoCon and her CV would frighten the hell out of me if I were an American!

Democrats Are Now the Aggressive War Party

The Democratic Party has moved from being what you might call a reluctant war party to an aggressive war party with its selection of Hillary Clinton as its presumptive presidential nominee. With minimal debate, this historic change brings full circle the arc of the party’s anti-war attitudes that began in 1968 and have now ended in 2016.

Since the Vietnam War, the Democrats have been viewed as the more peaceful of the two major parties, with the Republicans often attacking Democratic candidates as “soft” regarding use of military force.

But former Secretary of State Clinton has made it clear that she is eager to use military force to achieve “regime change” in countries that get in the way of U.S. desires. She abides by neoconservative strategies of violent interventions especially in the Middle East and she strikes a belligerent posture as well toward nuclear-armed Russia and, to a lesser extent, China.

...is it possible that the BREXIT vote will effect Trumps election chances?

...will this victory act as a signal for the discontented to act as brashly in the USA?

There's a very similar dynamic involved in that Trump's support comes from the same disaffected group of ignorant red-neck white trash who have no understanding of any of the issues and have had base emotions like racism pumped up so that these can be exploited for ulterior electoral purposes. Some said that the UK referendum served as a kind of bellwether for the US presidential elections and the ability of the far right in the UK to get the ignorant masses to vote for self-destruction suggests that there is traction in this strategy. I am now bracing myself for a Trump presidency. There is talk of a far-right party using the same kind of tactics as stockbroker's son, ex-public school boy, ex-city trader Nigel Farage, who has convinced many disaffected people that he is their champion, taking one third of the seats in the Netherlands parliament in elections there next year. I am starting to view the future with dread and suspect I am not going to derive much pleasure from the world I spend my last couple of decades in.

I am struck by the astonishing wisdom of Thomas Paine, one of the founding fathers of the USA, when he said as long ago as 1792: "A nation under a well regulated government, should permit none to remain uninstructed. It is monarchical and aristocratical government only that requires ignorance for its support." Of course everybody should have a vote, but this system will not work if the masses are ignorant.
