Third of republican voters would mull third party over Trump vs Clinton race.

So not only the GOP establishment hates Trump but also 1/3 of republican voters.

A lot has happened with the US primaries since our good friend Milti has last posted in this thread.

I hope Milti is OK and that he is just taking a break.

Perhaps I will start adding to this thread more often soon, as the nomination race is heating up on both sides of the aisle.

Hi Kikapu, my dear friend. I'm currently on paradise island, try not to use my laptop and enjoy this magnificent island of ours, each day is so enjoyable, the sun, the sea, the people I meet and talk to, and most of all my adorable grandchildren whom I spoil rotten !!

I will be 70 on May 9th and I have now made up my mind that Cyprus is where I want to wake up each morning, managed to convince my son at long last to take over the business and allow me the comfort of being where my heart is.I feel that in Cyprus you live twice, so I have many many years left !!

I shall follow closely the US elections but I would appreciate your input on the results thus far.

I'm glad that you are OK and are in "good hands" in Cyprus!

OK, I will start with these possible outcomes with the nomination process, given the present situation with the candidates.

This may be one of the craziest nomination processes for a long time.

Trump was a very long shot for the presidency, but now, he may also be a very long shot for being nominated as a Republicans despite having a large lead in the delegation count at the moment.

There's going to be a lot of "blood" spilled come the Republican nomination convention. Not so much with the Democratic nomination convention.

Looks like Trump will be forced out of the nomination contention at the convention and replaced by a "True" conservative because he won't be able to secure the needed delegation count, so it will become a "contested convention". The question then be asked is, what will Trump do?

Aside from getting very pissed off, he will go after blood himself and will try to run as a third party candidate, an Independent perhaps. He will try to deny the Republicans the last laugh and become a spoiler and split the Republican vote, much the same way Erolz was concerned about Bloomberg doing it to the Democrats, to try and hurt Hillary's chances.

Sanders will stay in the race until the bitter end despite not getting the nomination for the Democrats, but he will want to do what Hillary did to Obama 8 years ago, which she stayed all the way to the end, and unless Obama gave her a cabinet post, her supporters were threatening (blackmail) not to vote for Obama. I'm sure Sanders will want an important cabinet post in Hillary's government or else his supporters will too blackmail Hillary by threatening not voting for her.

At the end of the game, the Republicans will come away from this election with two black eyes and a fragmented party for a long time to come. The Republicans are in a lose lose situation and the Democrats are in a win win situation.

We can all thank Trump for his "white trash" way of talking and him not having a clue about politics in the slightest. Trump is just a another billionaire who is good at business but nothing else, and a country cannot be run as a business. Another billionaire tried the same thing as Trump is and he didn't get anywhere either, other than giving the election to Bill Clinton in 1992 from the sitting president, George Bush (the father). His name was Ross Perot, who was no less of a character than Trump. When Perot said he cared for the environment, he forgot to add how he blew up a reef close to shore where he had a house on an island, so that he can bring his very large sailboat much closer to his home.

...scary as it is i fear Cruz more than Trump, when it comes to Principal. Cruz has executed people, even the young and mentally deficient, Trump has not.

...Clinton is the real choice Republicans have, we will see if the Democratic Party is prepared for a "political revolution", by choosing Sanders to lead the left.

...very interesting.

The big apple is up for grabs today with the polls having Clinton just ahead of Sanders while Trump is way ahead with up to 40 ahead of his rival.

New York state boasts 95 delegates, a decisive result for either of the front runners.

Trump by the way will be 70 in June this year, still going strong the old boy, could it be his very young, well not so young wife at 46 mine is only 34   , is the reason of his youthful looks or is it perhaps his billions

The pollsters got it right as the two front-runners made impressive wins in the New York Primaries.

Trump looks set to win all 95 delegates. A new style Trump appears to have emerged, more restrained and focused on issues facing the US . The old boy has more or less become unstoppable on his way to becoming the Republican nominee for the November Presidential elections. Interesting times ahead , perhaps much more so than any other previously held US elections.

Trump sweeps all five US States bringing his total delegates to 950 and way ahead of his nearest rival Cruz by 390.

It looks a certainty that Trump will win the Republican nomination needing 287 more delegates, or 50% of those yet to declare in order to reach the required number of delegates.
