So pleased to hear Maria has had good fortune and that your Mr D is such a lovely gentlemen that he is taking care of her and her children. Not enough good men like that in the world.

All the best to you and your family and have a great festive time in Cyprus, Milty mou. :)

xx

Milti, have you wondered how you would have reacted to Maria had she not paid you the 1,000 Euros, or better still yet, how she would have reacted?

That is a very fascinating story of your meeting up with her again in the very least unexpected circumstances.

Strange you should think this, the very thought occured to me too !!
Just imagine, I do have a ....slight temper, but there again I was doing a little business with her husband. If you recall when I first posted this story on Maria and the 1000 I never held it against her, she was desperate and did all that she did for her children. She paid me back in full and that was nice of her.

For the benefit of those that were not around at the time and might be interested in knowing a little about this new story, here is what I posted at the time.

"maybe all along you may have even known you were being duped, Miltiades, but went ahead with it anyway....knowing the lady was desperate"

The circumstances of my acquaintance with the lady were such that no suspicions whatsoever entered my mind.Meeting her in such a way, realizing that the lady was Maria, her emotions at discovering my identity, her immense pleasure and attention to every word I spoke, meeting her children and being the recipient of so many accolades, completely overawed me, in fact I did consider when giving her the money to call it a gift but I thought I would wait until she repaid and then offer a contribution to help with the kids needs. I don't have any bitterness towards her and I feel the lady did what she did for her children on their return to Greece, she obviously had her flight tickets bought already but perhaps very little money to take back home She must have agonized over her actions and I'm certain that right now she FEELS GUILTY AS HELL in time I know that she will make contact and express her remorse.
Having suffered the "haircut" in Cyprus I will write this off as part of the ...haircut by a gorgeous ...blond !!!!
Did I fancy her, strangely I never saw her as anything else apart from the wife of my late friend and a devoted mother, a ponemeni mitera .
George also shared my love of Greek music, often we would listen to Stratos Dyonisiou, my favourite songs were also his, songs that will never die such as O Salonikios, O taxitzis, O Paliatzis !!!and I Magges then iparxoun pia !!!

"FEELS GUILTY AS HELL"
When asking her why she did not let me know of her wedding, that is exactly what she responded!! Too embarrased and although she paid me back she still felt guilty at lying to me at the time, truthfully, and I told her that, I would have helped her out if she only asked and told me the truth, if only to help the children.

Well, it's only natural.

It is also natural for D to ask Maria once they were alone on the way home whether she had slept with you, specially for her to get 1,000 Euros from you. I'm afraid that possibility is always going to be in the back of D's mind no matter how many times she has said "NO" to him. But hey, what can you do? It is what it is.

( have deleted her real name )

I had this email this morning from Maria, I forgot that I also gave her my business card.
I expected her to contact me and she did.
I replied, in English with a very short message.

" I wish you and your children all the luck in the world with health and happiness. I bear no animosity towards you, although I was deeply hurt, I understand your predicament. Use the money for the benefit of the children , a gift from a friend of their beloved father."

The lady kept her word, her new husband D is a lucky man.

D, her husband, knew nothing about this event until the night we met.
Im 100% certain that he accpted the fact that nothing untoward happened between my self and Maria. Her late husband, although knew him only briefly, was a friend, besides I would NEVER take advantage of someones misfortune in order to get me leg over, and I did and still do have a gorgeous young wife, Maria is now 39 my MOT 33
