It appears that the design and logo of the new "Federal Republic of Cyprus" Flag has now been leaked to the press. Check out the attached file supplied. I have to admit, it doesn't look bad in the least!

Get Real, You could also say that the flag of Greece looks like the American flag, the French Flag looks like the Italian flag...etc etc.....Come on!

All I am saying is that this flag here with the Blue, Orange and Red Strips with the independent Crescent and Star with the Blue Cross is the Flag that has been leaked by the Akinci Camp. And, has been agreed with the Greek Cypriot and UN representatives. Look at the former untied Cyprus Flag that would have been used for the 2004 Annan plan and see the similarities.

However, and regardless of this, note that the Turkish Cypriot camp is currently not very optimistic about a Federal solution and is now formerly seeking an upgrade and complete detachment from the original 1960 Constitution. This is a first, where the UK, with their interests of maintaining the two UK military bases, are not to happy about the Turkish Cypriot position.

I am only informing of the information that is passing my way. It doesn't mean I agree with it or am happy about it. Take it with a pinch of salt or dismiss it it's up to you, but for those whom knew me prior to the 2004 Annan Plan, the information I provided about that particular plan then was also dismissed until it became a reality in April 2004.

That is the Flag produced, while the TWO Federated States will have a certain degree of autonomy and independent structure. The Central government will be very loose indeed, while the "Guarantee" will be replaced with another form of "Motherland" attachment until turkey should one day become an EU member state.

But, we all know the Greek Cypriots will eventually reject this plan too!

...it's an ugly flag in my opinion. Only an apologist would forget that Cypriots died, whether Turkish or Greek, at the hands of "Turks" and "Greeks", for being Cypriot.

No need for a new flag, no need for a "new" mythic reality, clear thinking is needed.

MrH, a number of months ago, you claimed that, in July 1974, you remember how angry Turkish soldiers were when they found murdered TC civilians "buried alive" in "village after village". And it was this discovery that prompted the "Second Operation".

Here are your exact words.

Would you be kind enough to share with us the names of these villages and the dates Turkish soldiers discovered the murdered civilians ? Would you be kind enough to share with us which scholarly books discuss these pre-Second Operation massacres ? I have had no luck whatsoever confirming your claim.

I created a thread about this specific topic but no-one on this forum seems to aware any massacres before the Second Operation.

I did find something about the 20th July "Alaminos Massacre" but there seems to be some confusion on the Turkish side whether the victims were women and children and elderly.... or TC fighters.

a fellow recently phoned up a radio station and asked if he would be tried in the north or the south for his crimes in case of an agreement. have the police tried to find out who he was ti question him. what kind of law is actually being practiced under groc.

considering the groc has not investigated a single murder committed by a gc on a tc, what else is there to say. you may say well nor has the north. then again the north is not a recognised country where the rule of law applies. if groc is the same as trnc then it is indeed a travesty to have them as memembrs of eu never mind un.

I dont have faith in any part of the GC regime. with regards to all those TC villages that were masacred still now they are in denial. How can we then have a trial and how can we ever take those involved to task when It was supported by the state at the time .
