The truth of the matter is that you won't end up buying too much American gear because it is more expensive than Russian equivalents.
As a general rule across the board, the American stuff is also far superior.
Russian hardware is the poor man's alternative. Sometimes they are better value but overall the Americans trump the Russians on capability which is why the main middle powers prefer American gear.
Some Western Powers were actually tossing up whether they should look into buying Russian hardware but the general consensus is that American weapons are more flexible, quicker to deploy and integrate in the electronic battle space, have more firepower and are more durable.
The main argument against is interoperability and integration. Since Western Forces work jointly, it is also easier that they have the same electronic systems such as AEGIS, and use weapons which use the American Satellites for targeting. Alternatively, Russia can flick the switch but so can the Americans but when it comes to Western Powers, the Anericans are far more reliable and trustworthy for us.
