Apart from m16 rifles which we already have. (don't ask how)

Maybe a fleet of f16's at Paphos Air Force base....

US President signs defence bill allowing sale of defensive weapons to Cyprus

The reevaluation of the arms embargo required by this act will hopefully rectify the absurd status quo in which Turkey is allowed to occupy Cyprus with American arms but Cyprus has to look elsewhere to buy defensive weapons.

To be honest, it was on the agenda a long time before congress eventually passed it.

Remember when Russia sold us the S300 missile system, the reason why we voted Klerides the clown to power, and Turkey barked just a tinsy winsy bit and we shat our pants and agreed to have the missiles transferred to Crete (Where NATO has bases) and never actually installed them just let NATO examine them and steal the technology?

Useless junk! None of our Russian radars and electronic equipment is compatible with American junk and not to mention that Americans can never be trusted with their dodgy export equipment.

The truth of the matter is that you won't end up buying too much American gear because it is more expensive than Russian equivalents.

As a general rule across the board, the American stuff is also far superior.

Russian hardware is the poor man's alternative. Sometimes they are better value but overall the Americans trump the Russians on capability which is why the main middle powers prefer American gear.

Some Western Powers were actually tossing up whether they should look into buying Russian hardware but the general consensus is that American weapons are more flexible, quicker to deploy and integrate in the electronic battle space, have more firepower and are more durable.

The main argument against is interoperability and integration. Since Western Forces work jointly, it is also easier that they have the same electronic systems such as AEGIS, and use weapons which use the American Satellites for targeting. Alternatively, Russia can flick the switch but so can the Americans but when it comes to Western Powers, the Anericans are far more reliable and trustworthy for us.

Says who?
There was an embargo if you recall....

Nonetheless, I'm only interested in their F-16's

Say's me! American gear is consistently about twice the price of Russian equivalents so unless you are willing to pay double then you won't be getting a lot of American hardware.

Your budget is very limited.

F-16s are old hat now and long in the tooth. Better off going for about 6-12 F-18F or the JSF. But the Americans won't sell you those because these are not defensive.
