Why??
What's wrong with the Mig 29???
It’s been fucking superseded like 5 times! I already gave you the good modern Russian stuff that would be compatible with our equipment and non-NATO.
NB: We *MUST* have non-NATO equipment if we're to be able to defend ourselves.
you have the mental age of a 3 year old sometimes. who the hell are you going to defend against with what. all you can defend against is pirates and there aint that many of them this side of suez canal ffs. wake up will ya. stop spending on arms and spend on social health and education, invest to put people to work. get your furquine priorities right.
At the very least the CNG can turn your “Turkish Cypriot” arse into glass so that alone is worth gold.
Getting back to issue for Cap... US made equipment always come in 3 “flavors”:
1. Made for the US military <-- Top notch
2. Made for NATO <-- A notch or two down for "partners" with backdoor electronic access in case the partner turns against them.
3. Made for export <-- Great if you’re suicidal offering backdoor electronic access for the two above!
There is no back door access. They just might not sell you some of their weapons and radar systems. It depends on who the buyer is.
NATO members usually have the good stuff.
Australia, Canada, Britain usually end up with the exact same American versions.
But America controls the GPS constellation and that alone allows them to render pretty much most weapons useless if they wanted to.
I would say that Cyprus would not even need the same level of technology as these countries as it only needs a Fighter with air to air capabilities to defend its airspace. The aircraft can be configured to meet that need.
