Came across this funny comment elsewhere…

Ring ring… ring ring… ring ring:

"Hello, this is the NATO help line. We're sorry, but all of our operators are busy. If you have been invaded or have shot down a major power's aircraft, kindly leave your information and we will get back to you as soon as a single fuck is given. Thank you and good luck!"

NATO 'assumes' a position. Bunch of idiots.

http://www.therightperspective.org/2015 ... pective%29
NATO declared it “stands in solidarity” with member-state Turkey after its military shot down a Russian fighter jet that allegedly violated Turkish airspace.

NATO secretary-general Jens Stoltenberg made the declaration during a special meeting called by Turkey on Tuesday, only hours after the incident happened.

“I have previously expressed my concerns about the implications of the military actions of the Russian Federation close to NATO borders,” Stoltenberg said. “This highlights the importance of having and respecting arrangements [….] in the future.”

Stoltenberg went on to “call for calm and de-escalation.”

“Diplomacy and de-escalation are important to solve this situation,” he said, adding in response to a question that information from other NATO allies was consistent with information provided by Turkey regarding the incident.

Turkey said the Russian plane violated Turkish airspace and repeatedly ignored its warnings to leave. Moscow, however, said the plane was inside Syria when it was shot down.

U.S. president Barack Obama also defended Turkey’s shooting down the Russian plane, saying the country “has a right to defend its territory and its airspace.”

Once again, it seems Turkey are protecting IS-held territories.

I have to say you are the most narrow minded dimwit person I have ever noticed on this forum . Ok accepted you may be correct in some of the points you raise about the Cyprus problem but the whole regional conflict in that area you need to just read and learn because coming out with such stupid comments like that make you look really stupid and uneducated . Firstly that region is full of turkomans who are supported by turkey against the Assad regime . In case your not aware Europe, NATO , America are all on the same opinion that Assad regime must be wiped out and a democratically elected government to replace . Putin agreed at the last meeting with the whole world that they would target Isis groups who in case you are not aware you dimwit that this area we are referring to has zero Isis . Watch the fucking news so you can see where the fucking terrorists are. Putin the liar had his jets still intent on targeting these anti Assad groups however they are also constantly violating Turkish airspace which I must add a Syrian jet was also shot down recently so turkey has been robust and consistent in its strict reaction and right to defend its airspace . They were warned with no response . It's part of the protocol . NATO is in full support of turkeys action so let it be a warning to Russia if they think they can bully a nato ally .

Many NATO countries will not be happy with Turkey trying to manipulate them into a conflict with Russia... even the Americans might be pissed at the Turks for taking such initiatives which aim to serve the Turkish interests alone at the expense of the interests of most other countries.

I will answer you and that idiot island girl at the same time . What manipulation is there that you can demonstrate to me . There are very clear instances that occurred here but firstly you need to realise that there was on many occasions warnings by America and Nate that as so many countries are involved in air strikes at such close range that inevitably there would be instances of this nature . Russia had on numerous occasions violated airspace and you need to realise the atmosphere is very tense in that region so there needs to be uppermost caution. Turkey is not happy that they have to take the biggest pressure of 2 million refugees from Syria which are now starting to spill over to Greece and Cyprus and the rest of Europe . There is one interest that everyone has and we all have to focus on the main goal which is to wipe Isis out . Once that is achieved we can send all these refugees back to Syria so we all have a vested interest in turkey and all countries that are constantly bombing Isis targets . It's Russia that has their own interests which are in conflict with the rest . Which side are you on

No they don't you plonker . They warned the Russian jet 10 times so I don't think it was a fuck up but a very controlled response . They are under orders to deal with these types of incidents in this manner due to the tense situation in the area. You are thinking in civilian terms but these jet fighter pilots would be under strict instructions how to follow the protocol . They reacted the same when they shot down a Syrian jet so that tells you that they are consistent in their response . They are exercising their right to call in all 28 Nate nations . That's the protocol also . You need to read up on how nato operates . It's a bit like Eu . One for all and all for one . Surely you can understand that can't you . Was it not Cyprus that was bailed out of economic disaster they had recently by Eu?

I find your jubilation over the downing of the Russian SU quite sickening and not much different to the euphoria exhibited by Islamic extremist animals like DAESH with their ‘Allahu Akbar’ war cry! :x

Will you have the same attitude if the Syrians/Russians bring down a coalition jet, using the same legal argument that ‘.... they have a legal right to protect their air space.’? Or maybe either bringing down a couple of Israeli jets, which of course make almost daily incursions into their air space deliberately to attack ground targets within Syria? :?:

Unlike a US response to plane crashes or airliners being shot down, have you noticed how Putin does not leap in with threats based on unconfirmed intelligence? The measured response of a real statesman as he waits for confirmation rather than making knee jerk accusations he could later have to retract. But the US never retracts their accusations, do they, irrespective of lack of evidence to support them. (MH17, Assad's Sarin attacks on his own people .... ring a bell?)

Even using the Turkish RADAR plots of the aircrafts track, the incursion would have lasted around 15-20 seconds at most ........... hardly a threat to Turkey is it? I think Turkey will either end up having to apologise for their ‘mistake’ , which of course Russia would accept (with some compensation?) to defuse the effects of the attack, or they will live to regret their mistake. :o

If the Russians or Syrians shoot down a coalition aircraft, we will then have a war.

We will target the Syrian Military and destroy all their Air Force bases.
