No such thing as accidental. You can't just say Oopsey's, that was an accident because it is up to Turkey to believe that and I will tell you that they won't, especially as their Airspace has been violated dozens of times by Russia. Imagine an American aircraft violating Russian Airspace.

But as I said, Greece needs to grow some balls!

No there is not.

There is only International law governing overflights within a FIR and ADIZ and that was violated.

No military in their right mind will ignore than except the Greeks who have no bollocks.

The Greeks intercept the Turkish planes and escort them out.

What the Greeks need to do is shoot one down in order to send a clear message, because the Turks just keep violating.

even if they shoot one down which is complying. They need to send a message.

Now is the right time for that too.

no one is getting the message for Syria though. Except, perhaps, Russia. They are the only ones invited.

Oh well.

Russia and Syria will have to start shooting down coalition aircraft. But we have permission from the majority population and dejure Government of Syria.

Make sure they're willing to accept the consequences of that though. It will be very costly for them.

You must do which is why you wouldn't dare because you know what will happen after that and it won't be good for Assad or Pootin!

All we get is hot air!

paphitis I am amazed that you do not see that the air space over Syria is closed to the turks....actually anything coming from turkey is a no no these days...the turks must be having death wishes if they dare to fly over Syria...no NATO coverage including a no fly zone...

the Russians are moving in a lot of support to lock down the airspace over Syria....to the point even the yanks will have to file flight plans...

BTW there is no de jure government in Syria and there is no permission from people...all nonsenses...reality is, Russia is an invited party...simple as that...

http://atimes.com/2015/11/german-general-nato-article-5-wont-apply-to-turkeys-buffer-zone-in-syria/

my hunch is the PKK will get a few goodies out of all this and lets see how well they will work in turkey...

paphitis you need to ask yourself, what exactly did turkey win out of downing a Russian plane...apart from expecting 10 fold pay back from the Russians, one way or another...and believe me, the plane was not an ordinary plane, it belong to a superpower with the ability to glass turkey...

and before you go on about NATO bear in mind turkey was invited in NATO to PROTECT WESTERN INTERESTS....this mean it does not give turkey the right to endanger western interests...

Do you think it was sanctioned by NATO?...then what would NATO get out of this?...fuck all...

here read...
US officials blame Turkey for overreacting
CBS News on Tuesday quoted anonymous US officials as blaming Turkey for overreacting to a minor violation of its airspace.

US believes Russian jet was in Syrian airspace when Turkey shot it down
http://www.jpost.com/Middle-East/US-believes-Russian-jet-was-in-Syrian-airspace-when-Turkey-shot-it-down-435275
WASHINGTON - The United States believes that the Russian jet shot down by Turkey on Tuesday was hit inside Syrian airspace after a brief incursion into Turkish airspace, a US official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.

The official said that assessment was based on detection of the heat signature of the jet.

Analysis: Turkey’s ‘brinkmanship’ move with Russia

But already there are cracks in the seemingly unified front. Czech President Milos Zeman, known for his sharp tongue, denounced the Turkish operation and reminded the world of Turkey’s dubious past with Islamic State.
