They were probably tracking the paths of ISIS oil tanker trucks

Many incursions were over the black sea region and its been reported that isis is not present in the region where the plane was downed. But even if they were tracking trucks, why pursue them into Turkish airspace. Makes no sense.

I am not defending Turkey I am just trying to find logic in Russias actions

Look at the flight path Turkey released of the Russian plane buddy, Russia did not "pursue" them in to Turkish territory.

Perhaps you can then tell us the logic of why Russia shouldn't track ISIS trucks smuggling oil to Bilal Erdogan.

Is it even logical to give 10 warnings in 17 seconds and also have time to give the order to shoot, let alone give the pilot time to respond? All Turkish chutzpah....

No one said they issued 10 warnings in 17 seconds. See my earlier post.

And a warning could also constitute diplomatic warnings given to Russia's Ambassador.

Even America expresses its condolences after Obama composes himself that is! It takes a lot of effort not to laugh after all!

Can you imagine all the high fives in the Pentagon?

Are they high fiving with Erdogan for protecting the ISIS oil smugglers getting to their primary beneficiary?

If anything they were protecting Turkmen who are a minority ethnic group in Syria.

The mere fact that they are being targeted could be deemed a War Crime and Genocide. So the responce from Turkey is a good one, and the matter has been referred to the UN Security Council.

Turkey has done nothing wrong and has been applauded by NATO who defends Turkey's right to defend its Airspace.

A Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, hit out at the US state department official Mark Toner, who said the Turkmen fighters who shot the Russian airman as he parachuted to the ground could have been acting in self defence. “Remember these words, remember them forever. I will never forget them, I promise,” Zakharova wrote on Facebook.

RIP to the Russian airman, :( condolences to his family on their loss, and the greatest respect for the Russian forces trying to bring peace in the region with Turkish-IS terrorists all around.

There is NOTHING to mitigate dear.

Turkey has a right to defend its Airspace as does any other country including Cyprus.

The rescued Russian pilot denies any warnings from Turkish aircraft before being shot down.

Hmmm, it looks like the heat is now on Turkey. The giant Russian holiday company Pegas has cancelled all tours and holidays to Turkey and Russians are being warned not to travel to Turkey.

O Happy Days......

No heat on Turkey at all.

It can be easily proven that the SU-24 violated Turkish Airspace, but it is neither here nor there because it still does not take away Turkey's right to shoot it down within a self declared ADIZ which means the obligation is on Russia to declare and warn Turkey of the aircraft's intentions and status.

Noone?

A U.S. official told CNN that a calculation shows the Russian jet was in Turkish airspace for 30 seconds or less*. The Turkish government has said that it issued 10 warnings over five minutes but did not say all of those warnings occurred while the jet was in their airspace.
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/24/middl ... ey-border/

* it was less.

Turkey said the plane entered its airspace for 17 seconds,
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/n ... ambassador

10 warnings to getting a plane up in the sky to shoot it down. all in 17 seconds? Is it?
