Note the panic displayed by Turkey in the article!

"
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu tried to reduce tensions with Moscow, saying that Russia is Turkey's "friend and neighbour" and insisting relations should not be "sacrificed to accidents of communication

More fools making idiotic remarks as they scramble to mitigate Turkey's actions from catapulting them into conflict with Russia ...

A Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, hit out at the US state department official Mark Toner, who said the Turkmen fighters who shot the Russian airman as he parachuted to the ground could have been acting in self defence. “Remember these words, remember them forever. I will never forget them, I promise,” Zakharova wrote on Facebook.

RIP to the Russian airman, :( condolences to his family on their loss, and the greatest respect for the Russian forces trying to bring peace in the region with Turkish-IS terrorists all around.

I just read a paper that the US has stated that the Russian plane was indeed inside Syria when it got shot down.

The rescued Russian pilot denies any warnings from Turkish aircraft before being shot down.

Hmmm, it looks like the heat is now on Turkey. The giant Russian holiday company Pegas has cancelled all tours and holidays to Turkey and Russians are being warned not to travel to Turkey.

O Happy Days......

Turkey claimed that the Russian jet was in it's airspace for 17 seconds and had issued 10 warnings to the pilot to leave it's airspace. :?

Can someone explain to me how is it possible to issue 10 warnings over the radio to a UFO in 17 seconds and still have the time to order the Turkish jets to shoot down the Russian jet while the Russian Jet is still in the Turkish airspace???

You know, tomorrow is Thanksgiving day in the USA, also know as "Turkey day". The Russians might just have a wrapped present for Turkey tomorrow!

Nato has reported a total of 114 incursions over the months into Turkish airspace. No matter what one thinks of the regime they have issued repeated warnings to the Russians - infact the last was only last week.

A better question is why do the Russians repeatedly make these incursions, no one else seems too?

You have not answered the question and if you are not going to answer the question directly, then I'm not interested in your non answer answer, thank you.

I happen to watch the news tonight where there was a supposedly the recording of the warning Turkey gave, in very bad English I may add and in a very nonsensical way. That one so called warning could have taken all of the 17 seconds and assuming the Russian pilots did hear it and understood it, if by chance they were good at understanding bad English in a nonsensical way, then how did Turkey issue 9 more such bad English warnings to the Russians with no time left on the clock?

Wishing for somthing isn't the same as it actually happening.
Personally I think it was daft for Turkey to do what it did. But I suspect we will get a lot of hot air and all will be forgotten. If Russia was serious I would think they would cut the gas. They provide most of it.

Even America expresses its condolences after Obama composes himself that is! It takes a lot of effort not to laugh after all!

Can you imagine all the high fives in the Pentagon?

Are they high fiving with Erdogan for protecting the ISIS oil smugglers getting to their primary beneficiary?

If anything they were protecting Turkmen who are a minority ethnic group in Syria.

The mere fact that they are being targeted could be deemed a War Crime and Genocide. So the responce from Turkey is a good one, and the matter has been referred to the UN Security Council.

So, no smuggled oil for Erdogans son anymore and no more ISIS jihadists running backwards and forwards from Turkey.

Maybe the Turks will shoot down a French plane next.. !

France is a NATO member so good luck with that one.

Looks pretty conclusive to me. Doesn't get any better than a radar plot.

But either way, I would think most countries would do the same thing even if it didn't violate the Airspace, because Russia's actions were threatening.

Correct!

Wrong question. Do you think the Turks would ever complain about any incursions by those who fight on their side? Aren't those Syrian Turkmens as well as ISIS getting in and out of Turkey constantly? The REAL REASON for the event is that Russia fights the allies of Turkey (Turkmens, ISIS, Al Qaeda etc).

The aircraft could have been warned many times whilst it was in Syrian Airspace. They were required to disclose their intentions as 'friendly' and to move away from the ADIZ which could encompass Syrian Airspace and if it is not prepared to do so, it could be subjected to unfriendly action from Turkey.

Most countries intercept unwelcome aircraft well outside their Airspace and are warned from there in the ADIZ and they can be engaged if they don't cooperate. They don't wait until there is actually a violation, particularly if there is a military base in the area, town or city.

Those are the cold harsh facts of the matter.
