The law has changed recently which means you are actually able to gain Cypriot citizenship from your mother by descent. Before you can only do it from your father and since your father is Jordanian, that would be a tad difficult.

If they tell you it can't be done, then go to another District Attorney. They give wrong information sometimes and I believe they do it deliberately at times because they are lazy and don't want to work. The Cyprus Public Service is total bullshit and completely fucked up!
If you got no joy, then go to Nicosia and start banging on some doors of politicians.
As a final resort, make an appointment to see these lawyers who specialize in Citizenship matters. It may cost you some money but you will achieve success or at least be told where you stand by someone who won't bullshit you!
