"Ercan" is the name given to the Airport from the Turkish Pilot that was Skinned alive by the Greek Cypriots in 1974. Thus, there's no way its name will be changed - that airport belongs to Turkey now, completely!

lets face it, marash, omorfo, part of karpaz and all thevillages below the famagusta highway will be returnd except ercan. who gives a shit what you call it, like most things in cyprus you call it timbu and we call it ercan and thats it. you could compromise and take the direct translation and call it soldier life.
