The Pootin face saving begins ...

Postby Paphitis » Tue Nov 03, 2015 4:23 pm

Some very unclear messages have been forthcoming from Moscow and Tehran which seem to indicate that they are now willing to negotiate some kind of Syria transition away from Assad.

The statements remain unclear, but key analysts are suggesting that Pootin may be willing to negotiate some kind of Syria Peace Treaty with Assad stepping down.

It looks like the wheels are literally falling off with Pootin coming to terms with some realities. So Russia and the Coalition might merge their operations against ISIL, Al Nusra and some other groups however the FSA and it's more moderate allies are off limits.

The new language from Russia seems very positive. Indications are that Lavrov is willing to negotiate a transition.

But still, Pootin's word and signature is not worth the paper it is written on inmho!

Now willing?

Putin agreed to a transitional government in Syria two years ago at the G8 summit.

Well then, let's see what he proposes.

So we can expect him to stop bombing opposition rebels and join the coalition against ISIL. we can also expect inclusion of these more moderate opposing groups.

We've been asking for a 6-month transitional government where Assad steps down, and now Pootin has said that Assad is not critical to them. It's a major back flip to the position held over the last few months.

He has finally seen the writing on the wall maybe. Or Iran has cut a major deal.
