You were offered GC homes and you rejected the offer? And why you keep talking about uk pounds?

We didn't reject it but we neither accept it... rental payments in north are based on uk pounds...

repulsewarrior wrote:...i might suggest an enterprise that is not immediate but forward thinking; there must be contacts you have in the north with others who are Cypriot, if links could be facilitated in the south with other Cypriots, as an agent, a broker, something in the agricultural field, a service can be established, you having clients, filling this need. There are the orange groves in Limassol, my auntie worked there for many years, she was good to them, because she did what she wanted, work hard farming, and they were good to her, quite a change in life. I encourage anyone in life, who is seeking a position, to learn about International Trade. What with the TPP, and the agreements Europe has with North America, there is a great deal of potential. Things like nuts from Persian countries do not exist here anymore in any abundance, that too will change soon enough...

Thanks for your advice repulsewarrior... i'll keep in mind... :)

When will you return to Cyprus?

Living in a room in someone else's property is no proof you lived here. You need as a min the electricity bill to have been on your name for the period and they do check consumption.

Sorry, b25; I've misunderstood you... you are talking about that 6 months resident requirement... whatever is needed to prove that i resided in south; I'm ready to do... it's what the government asks me to do anyway... so they must have some ways to check it...

Yes, to prove you were living in the RoC you will need the electricity bill in your name for that min period before you apply. How else can you prove it?

I mentioned it because lord was offering you rooms in a friends house which is no good.

Got it B25... i will never choose such an option as living in a room at someone's house... i have to be with my family even after i rent a house my mother will join us... she has some seious health problems currently... I guess that 6 months residence requirement stems from tax laws...

Everyone was free regarding this issue... it was reported that there are 1100 TC families for some reasons haven't applied for exchanging their properties with the GC properties in north... or applied but haven't taken any GC properties for various reasons...

...one day i hope to have a good reason, i live very modestly so travel is not an option without a great deal of thought and/or effort, something in the food industry, i would also like to trade, for maple syrup; seriously. And i may suggest the best beef comes from Canada, and from Quebec highly prized cheeses as well it needs good intentions and partnership, kismet is funny that way, better than the lottery i suppose.

Those that got GC properties... did they apply for them or the properties were offered to them without them asking? What was the process?

They applied for them... Even right after the events of 1974 refugees applied for housing needs and it took a very long time to allocate all TC refugees a house... following the allocation of houses, TC refugees applied for agricaltural and non agricaltural land allocations... the allocation of agricaltural land didn't take long but allocating commercial land lasted very long for too many families... I have no idea about what was the process for the settlers though...

Will your mother need treatment in the free areas?
