The British already have bases in Cyprus, which the Americans freely use on a request basis.

Giving every poutana a military base in Cyprus would be like spitting and stepping on the beautiful white dove and branches of olive (symbols of peace) we decorated our flag with.

Stop masturbating with foreign lube.

One time, a US President told an Australian PM not to rely on the USA. The USA will take care of its interests first! It will also be looking at some level of self reliance because that is all you can depend upon 100% before it commits American lives. The Australian PM was Keating and the American President was Reagan.

Recently, the USA warned both the UK and Australia to not be a part of the Chinese People's bank. Both countries defied the USA and signed. Australia has been a huge investor in China on top of that, and arguably China's biggest investor.

Obama told Australia's PM that the USA will get over it and understands that Australia is looking after her interests.

This is the only thing that is absolute. Interests!

So basically, the point is, those bases are British, not American. The Americans asked for a base and this request was denied. Maybe Makarios was looking after RoC interest, but I think it was the worse mistake in Cypriot Contemporary History. To even suggest that this babba is smarter than the leaders of Singapore is amazing to me.

In the end, you got to try and look after yourself, otherwise you might want to keep some of your own lube in the draw.

Unlike Saint Obama, the magnificent champion of human rights.

Both the U.S.A and Russia are neck deep in their respective piles of vile shit. As Cypriots we should not celebrate one over the other but rather focus on identifying the best way to benefit our island.

Labels such as 'Syria under Russian occupation' do a grave injustice to all the good Syrian people harmed by NATO, a direct and indirect supporter of ISIS.

If I was guilty of creating a straw man, you are guilty of creating a false dichotomy, which says that anybody who criticises Putin is automatically praising Obama. I do happen to find Obama to be a whole lot more palatable than Putin, in fact, but that dichotomy does not hold. One could quite will be critical of both people.

Yeah, that's why we joined the E.U (and cheered with great enthusiasm when we enslaved ourselves to a foreign European Bank that now controls our money supply.), so we wouldn't stand alone.

Everyone looks after their interests and one day, the UK and USA interests might not align fully just like we have seen recently with UK/Chinese relations and AUS/Chinese relations.

British and Australian interests sometimes contradict America's interest and one thing you can guarantee is that even the British and Australians will look after their interest. So the lap dog tag is undeserved. At the moment, these countries agree on most things, but you can guarantee that they all are weighing up their interests beforehand and not just jumping to every American whim. It's a fact.

What are these interests? They are security, intelligence sharing, defence treaties (NATO and ANZUS), trade routes through the South China Sea, Arms, Trade and probably several more.

I'm not fully across that, but yes, the Cyprus Government should have weighed up all the pros and cons before joining.

It could be that it perceived the EU as a security blanket and a Guarantee against further Turkish aggression and also as political leverage over Turkey's future accession, and I'm not saying the EU is not.

But in all countries there is a Central bank that controls the money supply to the retail Banks.

doesn't hold for me either.

I am also very critical of Obama. The idiot has been extremely weak and made some HUGE errors.

The US should not have withdrawn from Iraq until the Iraqis were fully capable of protecting themselves and it was America's responsibility to make sure this occurred. Obama is also responsible for Maliki.

Obama has put me off the Democrats completely so I am supporting the Republicans - that's the first time I've said that in my entire life. I think Obama's lack of leadership is pushing a lot of Centrists to the far right of American politics. I believe the Republicans have got it in the bag and that is when Pootin better be careful because I don't think Jeb Bush is gonna be taking any nonsense from Pootin.

I also believe that this will be weighing on Pootin's mind too and is hoping it will all end by then.
